Bay: All Leaked Transformers 2 Information Is Fake

By bwbm on Thursday, July 31, 2008

"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" Director Michael Bay is continuing to follow through with his promise of throwing us fanboys off of the real film's scent.

In a recent post on the message boards of his official website, Mr. Bay has claimed that basically everything that has been leaked is fake. "We have mocked up wrong schedules and call sheets [see them here -ed.] with fake scenes on them.," he writes.

He continues, "[w]hen shooting scenes we don't refer to character names and use wrong faces on the poles representing different robots that are going to be placed in."

Mr. Bay indicates that these fake schedules and call sheets have indeed thrown us off the scent. "[N]o one knows the story of the movie besides Sam going to college."

Just like the first film, Mr. Bay writes that "under ten" people have read the full script.

"The only full script for the movie exist with me and the original writer's," he writes on his message board. "A select few crew members have read parts, some of the leads have read full scripts - but the number is under ten. One person from Paramount [Pictures], three from Dreamworks [SKG]."

I reckon that if Bay kept his mouth shut, and just smiled and shrugged when asked what was fake, he'd be a hell of a lot more successful in all of this.

I'm not about to start complaining about character development and such, but the effort behind planting false information seems like a waste of time.

Bay's an @$$ as usual...just keep all the info coming, whether real or fake...we'll figure it out. He can't win it all...he never does. If only he & the writers used this much energy in character development!

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that one. Of course, that it looked like it was drawn on a resturant napkin sort of supported Murphy's shoot down at the time...

Sad but true.

*remembers the leaked sketch of Starscream that was immediately shot down by Don Murphy and ended up being exactly what movie Starscream looked like* yeah, I'm not thinking that this campaign of disinformation is anything more than Bay saying "these leaks are fake".

I concur with the latter bit, although, I don't recall much in the way of leaks for the first movie. At the timepoint a year prior to release, the only real spoilery things I think we had seen were pictures of Ironhide's truck mode and the giant Bumblebee statue.
