Bay Says 3D Too Lame for Transformers 3

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the ever angsty Michael Bay is not too keen on the Hollywood making a mad rush to release everything in 3D. Citing numerous challenges that shooting in the third dimension imposes, Bay feels the new technology is not ready for Prime time when it comes to the kind of complex fast action work he does.
"I shoot complicated stuff, I put real elements into action scenes and honestly, I am not sold right now on the conversion process," said Michael Bay."
It is no surprise that Dreamworks is pressuring all their directors to ride the 3D wave. Mr Bay is especially concerned about someone else messing with his work and the converting traditionally filmed movies in to 3-D:
"I'm used to having the A-team working on my films, and I'm going to hand it over to the D-team, have it shipped to India and hope for the best? This conversion process is always going to be inferior to shooting in real 3D."
More over Michael Bay has made it clear he just does not see this technology has being developed enough to offer a convincing experience to theater goers. He's trying to give it a chance but has not been impressed yet:
"I am trying to be sold, and some companies are still working on the shots I gave them," Bay stated. "Right now, it looks like fake 3D, with layers that are very apparent. You go to the screening room, you are hoping to be thrilled, and you're thinking, huh, this kind of sucks."
As usual, Bay is not ready to compromise on his production efforts. Reminding us that is movies are filmed in a precise manner that does allow room for unproven technologies:
"People can say whatever they want about my movies, but they are technically precise, and if this isn't going to be excellent, I don't want to do it. And it is my choice."
