Re: Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Megatron Gallery (Score: 1) by Metal_Former (metal@former.mf) on Thursday, June 29, 2006 @ 01:11:03 AM | I like this Beast Megatron, though for a Beast Wars 10th Anniversary line they should have used the original mold. Maybe this is good. Otherwise I would not buy it since I already own the original.
I like the cyber beast design and wish there is a repaint that makes him look more metallic like the early pictures shown. The part I like the must is that he now his tail/gun is removible like in the show, though his hand gives a lot to be desired. The face sculpt is good and is not peeling his teeth liek the old one does.
The cyberkey feature is neat but seems out of place on this figure. But I like this gimmick better than the original one. Having the tail/gun deployed in beats mode may see "weird" to put it mildly but I don't complaint. I think of Zoids' Gun Snipper when I see that.

Re: Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Megatron Gallery (Score: 1) by FoxtailGuy on Thursday, June 29, 2006 @ 01:57:56 AM | I really like the sculpt on this figure, save for the awkward "Ram this cyber planet key into my crotch to reveal my prehistoric @$$-cannon" feature. I think we're all wondering what they had in mind with the color scheme. Sure, it's close to the original mis-colored figure, but if it's not going to resemble the show, they might as well make it look less putrid. While it can sometimes be fun to repaint a figure, it's also a bit of a hassle. Quite frankly, I plan on repainting mine to match my Cybertron Galvatron figure. The head, repainted, would make a decent G1 Megatron head.
Now, I didn't read the bio on the package, but did someone say this is supposed to be a post-Beast Machines Megatron? Please. I know this will make me sound like a geek, but it's pretty clear at the end of the series that SPOILER WARNING: Megatron and Primal merge to create Cybertron's new techno-organic core. Megs is literally part of the planet. Whoever came up with a bio like that is a fool. Anyway, what ever happened to those Transtech figures? As cool as they were, they still had a Megatron, which just doesn't make sense. ::sigh:: If I weren't suffering from insomnia at 3AM, I probably wouldn't be typing this...
Final Verdict: Good figure. Bad paint. |
Re: Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Megatron Gallery (Score: 1) by Single_Elegant_Machine on Friday, June 30, 2006 @ 12:32:59 AM | I agree with FoxtailGuy. Not only are Megatron and Primal part of Cybertron itself, but think about it for a second! Megatron returns in an ORGANIC body!? Nice bio, it should say: "Now he has returned to self-loath and do the same things he tried to do in Season 1 of Beast Machines." He would HATE that! Talk about lack of respect for people's opinions, Hasbro. Sheesh.
Nice mold, poor paint application, and an ill-thought biography. |
