I didnt collect the toys when these were around, like a large proportion of the current TF community. I think the series was more interesting than the toys! Rattrap looks like the best robot in the bunch presented for thos post, although his beast mode looks rather, well boring! Theres something about transforming beasts... I dunno, it works for Flame Convoy really well, but for others it just doesnt! smeh. |

I realize Tarantulus sounds better and Tarantulas is just the plural of tarantula, but the first 2 original figures where named Tarantulas. Did we ever see his name spelled Tarantulus on the show? Seems kind of strange to do a very minor renaming on a figure that's supposed to be a 20th anniversary representation. Maybe they just decided the paint wasn't the only thing they wanted to fix?

But other than that, these are cool and I am picking them up. |

1.) Why do we have Transmetal Rattrap instead of the original figure? I like both figures but it strikes me as odd they used the TM version (and I was also hoping to get the original because since all I have its a KO I bought at a discount store along Terrorsaur, Stink Bomb and Spittor.)
2.) Why was Tarantulas changed to Tarantulus? Trademark issues? On a side note, I have seen that "variation" used a lot on several boards and pages I have stumbled with and I am wondering if this is an unofficial spelling or what. |

That's an easy one. All of these figures are deluxe scale while the original Rattrap was a basic. The only way they could get him into the line was to use the larger TM version which unfortunatly didn't require too much work, unlike, say, Dinobot which was extensivly repainted.
