Netflix, Inc. has flipped the switch and has made the entire series of Beast Wars available on Netflix Instant, the company's streaming service. The on-demand availability of this series continues the agreement between Hasbro and Netflix, announced last month. This includes season one, two, and three. Other series part of this agreement is the entire Generation 1 series and so far, the first season of Transformers Prime. Season two will undoubtedly appear once it hits the DVD market as well.
Simon Furman has announced that he will be offering signed copies of his comic book take of Beast Wars #1, the first in an unreleased six issue mini-series from the now-defunct Dreamwave Productions. The script will be available at whichever convention he will attend. It is also available at All The Cool Stuff for £4.00 (~$6 USD). In a blog post announcing this (he previously did this for unreleased War Within: Age of Wrath #4 and #5), he provided some back story on his thought process when crafting this Beast Wars tale. Read more about it.
What a nice treat a couple of days from the night where Santa Claus squeezes himself into every child's chimney to delivery gifts! David Kaye, well known in the fandom for lending his voice to Beast Wars Megatron, is offering you a Merry Christmas! Donning his persona as the Megatron with a personality, Mr. Kaye William Shatners (yes, we turned William Shatner's singing style into a verb) his way through "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" - A Capella style. Video reviews for all the newest Transformers releases are common place these days. There are quite literally dozens of reviews for most every new figure we see in the stores. That said, there's a huge number of Transformers figures that have never gotten air time, until now. Thanks to forums member Vigadeth who has posted video review of one of my faves, the Beast Wars Transmetal Ramulus action figure. He's a goat....he has a great motto....he has chrome magenta! HE'S AMAZING! Check out the video to revisit all that TM goodness again after the jump.
This was a commissioned piece. Optimus Primal is ultra class (larger one) and the original version. Few things bugged me about the figure, so I did my best to improve those. To begin with, the original figure only had fists, and when in Gorilla/alt mode, those fists weren't facing a convincing direction. I added articulated, rotating hands. I also gave his robot mode working LED eyes, with easy-access batteries located on the back. Lastly, I gave Optimus a pair of cool swords, c/o Movie Leader Prime.
