BotCon 2012 - The Dealer Room & Cosplay

By Peter Van on Monday, April 30, 2012

One of the highlights of BotCon has always been the dealer room and this year is not any different. With fans and collectors alike running around the floor trying to hunt down that one toy that they have been looking for, this is the place to be. This year, we saw quite a lot of cool stuff, with Takara Tomy's Masterpiece MP-11 Starscream selling out at various dealers within an hour or so into the preview, shops with Transformers First Edition figures getting swamped, and more. Take a walk with us in the gallery in the full article!

The final Auto Assembly takes place next weekend in Birmingham, England, and there's been some interesting developments! First is that, for the first time ever, the convention has official exclusives! AA and Roll Out Roll Call have partnered with the Collectors Club to offer a selection of this year's BotCon pieces at their shows. There is also going to be a very limited print by G1 and ReGeneration One artist Andrew Wildman available at the show! Read on for more details!
TFCon Charlotte has announced a new guest: Gregg Berger, voice of Grimlock in both G1 and the upcoming Transformers Devastation! Berger will be onhand all weekend for Q&A panels and autograph sessions. Read on for more details!
This week on Radio Free Cybertron: We talk about the new Masterpiece Thundercracker figure coming from Takara Tomy, the Diaclone Reboot Masterpiece Toys, MakeToys Cyclonus upgrade kit, Dr Wu's NOT Mixmaster upgrade kit--er--figure, plus we sit down and chat with Colin Douglas, organizer of TFCon Charlotte about the upcoming convention.

Shockingly enough, all three of the Transformers exclusives on Hasbro Toy Shop which debuted at San Diego Comic Con this summer are still available to purchase as of this writing. While this batch isn't the first to see one piece stick around for a little while after activation, it's probably the first time the whole assortment has stayed accessible and obtainable even for those not riding their mobile devices at work hoping to beat store crashes. So what made this year different? Keep reading!
We wanted to give everyone the heads up. Hasbro revealed during the course of SDCC that their exclusives were planned to make their way on to HasbroToyShop on July 28th, which is tomorrow! If you're hoping to get yourself any of this year's offerings, be ready to join your fellow fans in monitoring the site starting tomorrow morning for stock to be activated. We were able to bring you reviews of all of these exclusives, so if you want to familiarize yourself again before the big day, click through for a list of our coverage!
