BotCon 2012 - Wheeljack Is 2012 Fans Choice for Transformers Hall of Fame; Shockwave to Appear in Prime Series

By John DeLuna on Saturday, April 28, 2012

Just in from the Transformers BotCon 2012 is news from the Hall of Fame event in Dallas, Texas. It should be no surprise really that Wheeljack has been voted by the fans into the 2012 Transformers Hall of Fame

We would like to congratulate Wheeljack on the distinction that is long overdue.

It was also announced that Shockwave will be in Transformers Prime.

At the end of his induction video during the Hall of Fame ceremony, a clip from the series was included where he was being introduced to the Autobots in the show (could this be the character David Kaye will be voicing in a "special" two-part arc?).

We are dedicated to being to be the best resource for all your Transformers news and reviews every day. Keep your browser dialed to Tformers.com for updates as they happen.

The BotCon website has posted a set of images teasing the Cybertron's Most Wanted figure set. Shown are five pair of identical robot hands holding placards, presumably part of a set of cropped mug shots. Besides the figures' titles - "The Thief," "The Muscle," "The Loose Cannon," "The Boss," and "The Bounty Hunter" - the placards contain several numbers that may or may not provide some insight as to the figures or characters being used in the set. To accompany this, Fun Pub has posted a video to YouTube revealing the identity of "The Thief." Keep reading to see for yourself!
Simon Plumbe revealed today that the 15th Auto Assembly would also be the last. Citing age, health and a variety of other various important real-life reasons, Plumbe thanked congoers for their support and explained that above and beyond Auto Assembly, he has been involved in fan clubs and cons since 1989. That's long enough for anyone to need a breather, and we salute Mr. Plumbe for his contributions to UK Transformers fandom. Keep reading for the full text of the announcement.
TFExpo returns for a fifth year! The 2015 show will be held August 14th and 15th at the Holiday Inn here in Wichita Kansas. This year's show celebrates the Transformers robots AND all action figures and 80's toylines. Best of all, they wikk commemorate the fifth show some great guests including fan favorite G1 Bumblebee voice actor Dan Gilvezan and writer Buzz Dixon! Read on for the full event details.
Pete Sinclair of Fun Publications was recently interviewed over video, and in the process seems to have let a bit too much fall in frame. Based on an enhanced screencap by well known fan Monzo, we've identified and highlighted the toys that are visible. The image is low-res, but with some work defining the edges the forms of the figures can be made out well enough. Of course this is likely a spoiler for some of this year's convention toys, so please keep that in mind before proceeding. For full info, keep reading!
As promised, following the requested number of retweets the Botcon Twitter posted a work-in-progress form of the first page of the 2015 comic book. Set in the catch-all world of Axiom Nexus, the comic is sure to be filled with visual references. We've learned that Matt Frank will be doing the linework (which explains something Mecha Godzillaish in one panel) which has us quite excited, as Matt Frank is one of our favorite occasional Transformers artists from the IDW books. Keep reading to check out the image and get more info!
