Dreadwind as a Jetfire repaint? I sure hope they remolded his face. It'd be a pity if they put so much into making Thrust and then just repaint everything else...

Methinks you didnt check out the previous story, which is already linked to in the very same headline that brought you to this page, eh?

Anyway, I wonder if this will actually sell well or keep its value later on when the scalpers try and re-sell it?

I doubt it.

They did, they actually gave Dreadwind a dead-on head sculpt evoking his G1 counterpart. At the same time, with the effort they put into giving him a new head and Thrust his trademark VTOL wings, one would think they could make the slight modifications needed to make Ramjet's wings into Dirge's, rather than just a straight-up repaint.

Shame, though, because the set looks so good. But, alas, the $300 price tag wasn't in my range.

This may sound stupid but Who is the white bumblebee looking character? I think I have seen him before. I think he has a number on him or something.

Bugbite. He's a homage to the Takara repaint of G1 bumblebee who was basically the same character as the Gobot bugbite. the idea went that the gobots joined or had close links with their cybertronian counterparts.

Takara released a set of minibots as repainted gobots as hasbro secured the rights to the gobot liscence but not the actual figures when it bought tonka.

1) I bought the set (only because I'm going to BotCon this year)

2) I have no plans of selling or scalping it

3) I wonder what the "mystery" figure is. I bought the Primus package, so I guess I'll find out.

I would agree that $300 is an extraordinary price. But since I'm going to BotCon anyways, it came up being worth the price.

YOU SPENT $300 ON 5 TOYS!? ARE YOU FREAKING HIGH?!

Not $300 on 5 toys, in that case. Only if you ordered them and weren't attending. The $300 for going to Botcon includes the set, the secret figure, admission, etc., so it's not nearly as outrageous a price as simply ordering the figures if you can't attend.

Going to Botcon or not your still paying $300 for a couple of toys. Thats insane.

"Adult Collectible" is right.
No kid would blow 300$ worth of allowance money on this garbage.

I am hope that some of these will possibly be made into retail versions for those of us who are unable to attend BotCon. I do like the Dirge, Thrust, and Thundercracker out of this set, and hopes one day to finsh my classics collection, sigh.
