BT 21, 22 Alternators Windcharger, Another Convoy

By bwbm on Tuesday, March 25, 2008

First BinalTech releases hit a slow patch, but 2008 seems to be bringing about a resurgence of the series for the line by TakaraTomy. Following the BT-19 Bluestreak and BT-20 Meister v2 confirmation, information about BT-21 and BT-22 seems to be trickling out as well.

"Crazy" of the Hong Kong Transformers Talk Forum, has provided information BT-21 will be a repainted Transformers: Alternators Windcharger while BT-22 will be another version of the BinalTech Convoy figure. It is unknown at this time what the names of each figure will be.

The Convoy figure has already been issued by Takara twice: BT-17 Black Convoy (WonderFest exclusive) and KISS Convoy & Melissa.

The images show that BT-21 will be sporting an all-silver color scheme with what seems to be pink parts.

In the discussion thread, two images of BT-22 Convoy offer two different colors. The first image has the figure in an all-yellow color scheme on the truck while an image posted by "fish" later in the thread shows a green color scheme. The explanation could be the rather washed-out state of the first image posted by "crazy."

Here are some details for each figure:
Binaltech BT-21 Arcee feat. Honda S2000 Hardtop with die-cast parts
Release Date: 17 July 2008
Price: 5250 Yen

Binaltech BT-22 Convoy feat. Dodge Ram with die-cast parts
Release Date: 17 Jul 2008
Price: 5250 Yen

Yeah... I'd much rather have no die-cast, based on the last post. A lightweight figure doesn't bother me, but one I'm afraid to handle due to chipping (like every other BT I own) does.

wonderfest Nemesis Prime is an amazing figure. So much die cast. Probably double the nearest BT figure. Increadibly hard to keep from chipping though. I'd love to see a new optimus prime with that much diecast, but I'd really rather see iron hide (in plastic or diecast)

Oh yes you do. As someone that owns Black Convoy, the weight of the die-cast is awesome and I chose that word on purpose. I have both Nemesis Prime and Black Convoy and the difference is amazing. I don't want a green Prime, but a true BT Prime w/ die-cast in Prime colors... I think I might have... read more

Slightly different, yeah, but Alt Prime was just missing a few paint apps. It was a lot less pronounced than the differences between Alt and BT Prowl or Skids, for instance. And I like die-cast, but I don't really see how it would make the figure that much better. *hopes for Hoist repaint*

Alt Prime and KISS Prime had slightly different decos. Whatever. Don't want a die-cast Prime, anyway.

I do hope Convoy is a different color and not just red again. Metal or no, I see no reason to make the exact same figure three times in three different product lines.
