Cartoon Network Announces 09-10 Season Development Plans, Leaves Out Animated

By bwbm on Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Cartoon Network put out a press release today, which announces their 2009 and 2010 Season development slate.

The network announced a "dramatic expansion to its 2009-2010 content development strategy," according to the statement.

While the press release detailed a sleuth of new and returning shows, Transformers Animated was left out of the latter category.

This is not a definitive statement that the show is cancelled, but it certainly doesn't hurt putting additional nails in the coffin that the series will end after this season.

Of course given that the movie only has two hours to tell a story while the series had several episodes.

After reading all the entries and seeing the stances from several peoples angles, I can see where people are coming from. I myself always liked the toys(they just seemed fun even if a lil' cartoon-y), but it took me most of season one to decide that I liked the show(Sari use to piss me off to no... read more

Yeah, I get your point. I was just saying that they didn't care. And I guess our ides of "broader audience" are different. I have resigned myself to the fact that the people who make the shows rarely care about us so I define a broader audience as a larger pool of kids. But to embelli... read more

What I was getting at had nothing to do with the 'target' audience, and everything to do with a 'broader' audience (a.k.a. "us"), that's all...it's not an argument, just a thought to throw out there... My bigger issue was the second part of my post...and 'I he... read more

But kids (the target audience) very probably don't know/care about/follow voice actors. So what you said kinda makes no sense. Add to that that "Spongebob" is on another channel and I just don't see where you're going with that argument. In the end, Cartoon Network doesn'... read more
