Colored Looks at Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Lambor Show All the Awesome; Amazon To Include Additional Pile Drivers
By puma on Wednesday, June 13, 2012
At this rate, Takara Tomy may not have anything left to reveal at this weekend's Toyko Toy Show. Japanese retailer e-Hobby has posted the product page for the company's Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Lambor (Sideswipe) and Amazon Japan has revealed their exclusive.
The figure is exactly like you would expect the Generation 1 homage and appears to be in-scale with Transformers MP-10 Convoy and is able to hitch a ride in the trailer.
The figure is set for an October 2012 release for 5800 Yen (~$73 USD).
Amazon Japan is also offering exclusive pile drivers that can be attached to the figure's hands in robot mode (see image below). A set will come with each purchase of MP-12 Lambor from Amazon, which is currently taking pre-orders for 5098 Yen (~$64 USD).
This mold will be reused for MP-14 Red Alert, which is set to be officially announced by Takara at Tokyo Toy Show this weekend.
Stay tuned to Tformers.com for more details as they are made available. Your best resource for all the Transformers news and community every day.

Me too but I've already tried. They won't ship these to the states.
Well... at least based on that pic it'll make a good looking G2 repaint, lol
I found another pic of the weapons storing on the vehicle mode when i looked on Amazon.jp I want to order all the figures from them as the Sideswipe comes with piledrivers and Soundwave comes with Energon cubes! I am looking forward to these guys. Will these guys have real rubber tires? I know i... read more
Sideswipe is going to be the same basic size as an Alternity, so tall Deluxe, small Voyager( based on pre-DOTM sizes, not the current sizes) Soundwave is the one I'm waiting on for size comparison's, he's either gonna be the same height as MP-10, or just a tad shorter, around the same h... read more
I will ask the question that no one has....I hope that all the weapons fit on the figure in Alt mode....would kind of suck if they at this point couldn't be stored on the figure....I want to see what he looks like next to Alt / BT and the MP01 figure as well. I am guessing he's going to be a... read more
My Universe 2.0 Sideswipe is good enough.
are we looking at the same figure???? These guys are being done in proper scale with each other. Since Takara reset the scale with MP-10, Lambor had to shrink down too. Since the figures shrink, so did the prices. The MP line are supposed to be more Anime accurate. Hell, he even looks like the DW S... read more
I'm a bit dissapointed with Sideswipe. It does not look like what I have grown to expect what a MP to be. He's small and a blocky. I was wondering why the price was so low and then we saw the prototype image. My honost first reaction was that that could not be a MP! The price may be... read more
That looks awesome! -
i don't think all the other cassettes were confirmed to be released in the same box as Soundwave.... Why wouldn't Takara do the same things as they did in the 80's??? Pack 1 cassette with the figure, and then release 2 packs. That model worked back in the 80's, why the hell not no... read more
We're still looking for corroboration on this, so file firmly in rumor territory for now, but it may be that the long-anticipated Masterpiece Jazz might be on the way. On Twitter, snakas of Autobase Aichi tweeted a silhouetted image depicting Jazz with the MP-31 text. Again, we're unsure of an original source for the information, but with Wonderfest happening today in Japan we're not ruling out the possibility of this as a reveal. We expect to have more Wonderfest coverage to share later tonight, so keep watching for that and more updates about the possible Masterpiece Jazz!
This week on Radio Free Cybertron: Lots of Titans Return and Masterpiece discussion this week. Melllvarr has his hands on Masterpiece Ironhide and surprise! He actually likes it! Also we talk about the new photos of MP Hot Rod and discuss new images of MP Optimus Primal. We discuss news coming out of Nuremberg Toy Fair, the upcoming start date of Transformers 5 filming and more!
We have a video mirrored from the Chinese Youku streaming video service that gives us a look at the full process of transforming the new Masterpiece Hot Rod. As expected from the older photos, a majority of the car shell is compressed within the torso and backpack. Once everything is unfolded, it seems the front wheels won't even touch the ground due to some leftover robot elements under the car. Otherwise it seems like everything comes together solidly for both modes. Keep reading to check out the embedded video.
TFW2005 member Monrai has posted to that site a series of scans from Hyper Hobby Magazine showing off MP Optimus Primal! The Maximal leader's transformation is shown, specifically how the head works now that his robot mode chest piece is part of the gorilla gut. Also, we get our first look at his swappable faceplates, including various lipped expressions and a "battlemask" (AKA Toy Look) version. Keep reading to see!
While TakaraTomy is region-locking their weekly Beast Wars videos on YouTube, ironically they're not apparently doing so on Japanese streaming site NicoVideo. This week, after the Beast Wars recap, QTransformers Arcee shows off the grayscale prototype of MP Beast Convoy! The video can't be embedded, so keep reading to see screengrabs and a link!
