Colored Looks at Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Lambor Show All the Awesome; Amazon To Include Additional Pile Drivers
puma - Wednesday, June 13, 2012

At this rate, Takara Tomy may not have anything left to reveal at this weekend's Toyko Toy Show. Japanese retailer e-Hobby has posted the product page for the company's Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Lambor (Sideswipe) and Amazon Japan has revealed their exclusive.

The figure is exactly like you would expect the Generation 1 homage and appears to be in-scale with Transformers MP-10 Convoy and is able to hitch a ride in the trailer.

The figure is set for an October 2012 release for 5800 Yen (~$73 USD).

Amazon Japan is also offering exclusive pile drivers that can be attached to the figure's hands in robot mode (see image below). A set will come with each purchase of MP-12 Lambor from Amazon, which is currently taking pre-orders for 5098 Yen (~$64 USD).

This mold will be reused for MP-14 Red Alert, which is set to be officially announced by Takara at Tokyo Toy Show this weekend.

I found another pic of the weapons storing on the vehicle mode when i looked on Amazon.jp I want to order all the figures from them as the Sideswipe comes with piledrivers and Soundwave comes with Energon cubes! I am looking forward to these guys. Will these guys have real rubber tires? I know i... read more

Sideswipe is going to be the same basic size as an Alternity, so tall Deluxe, small Voyager( based on pre-DOTM sizes, not the current sizes) Soundwave is the one I'm waiting on for size comparison's, he's either gonna be the same height as MP-10, or just a tad shorter, around the same h... read more

I will ask the question that no one has....I hope that all the weapons fit on the figure in Alt mode....would kind of suck if they at this point couldn't be stored on the figure....I want to see what he looks like next to Alt / BT and the MP01 figure as well. I am guessing he's going to be a... read more

are we looking at the same figure???? These guys are being done in proper scale with each other. Since Takara reset the scale with MP-10, Lambor had to shrink down too. Since the figures shrink, so did the prices. The MP line are supposed to be more Anime accurate. Hell, he even looks like the DW S... read more

I'm a bit dissapointed with Sideswipe. It does not look like what I have grown to expect what a MP to be. He's small and a blocky. I was wondering why the price was so low and then we saw the prototype image. My honost first reaction was that that could not be a MP! The price may be... read more

i don't think all the other cassettes were confirmed to be released in the same box as Soundwave.... Why wouldn't Takara do the same things as they did in the 80's??? Pack 1 cassette with the figure, and then release 2 packs. That model worked back in the 80's, why the hell not no... read more

More MasterPiece News
A few more scans have turned up since the initial round this morning, giving us some extra looks at the just-revealed Masterpiece Sunstreaker. These images highlight the toy's ability to be configured as either a realistic vehicle mode, or one that more closely resembles the cartoon with the enhanced engine. And in a really nice touch we can see that the doors, trunk, and headlights can all open - though there's not really any interior to see in the process. We've got the new images for you below, take a look!
It's Magazine scans season again, and we've got a heck of a reveal making the rounds courtesy of one Stanley Cheung: MP-39 will be Masterpiece Sunstreaker! He's shown with a Chip Chase mini-figure complete with wheelchair, as well as an alien mask as seen on Sunstreaker and Tracks in the G1 episode "Hoist Goes Hollywood." Keep reading to see the scans!
It's that time again! With Masterpiece Artfire on the horizon, The Genmon Photo Vault on Facebook has posted images of the Hasbro Asia-exclusive collector coin! These will be available with the non-Japanese Asian markets release of the Japan-exclusive Targetmaster character, and will probably be available from whatever online retailers draw their supply from that stock. Keep reading to see!
Testshot photos for Transformers rarely matter after the toy in question has been released, generally just being a novelty or curiosity. But every once in a while a testshot tells us something new, such as what accessories Masterpiece Cheetor did not come with ...yet? Some photos shared by Planet Iacon on Facebook and fan Primal Sabbath show a green testshot Cheetor that has all the expected parts, plus two more, representing the communicator armband from the Beast Wars episode "The Web". So, what's the deal and why didn't these come with Cheetor? Keep reading for thoughts!
Thanks to Weibo member NOTRAB, we have some in-hand images of the MPM-4 Optimus Prime Transformers Masterpiece figure that will be coming to the USA this Summer. Here is a chance to get a closer look at what has changed from the Revenge of the Fallen (2009) Leader Class mold to this one. Read on to see more in the images below.
