Colored Looks at Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Lambor Show All the Awesome; Amazon To Include Additional Pile Drivers

By puma on Wednesday, June 13, 2012

At this rate, Takara Tomy may not have anything left to reveal at this weekend's Toyko Toy Show. Japanese retailer e-Hobby has posted the product page for the company's Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Lambor (Sideswipe) and Amazon Japan has revealed their exclusive.

The figure is exactly like you would expect the Generation 1 homage and appears to be in-scale with Transformers MP-10 Convoy and is able to hitch a ride in the trailer.

The figure is set for an October 2012 release for 5800 Yen (~$73 USD).

Amazon Japan is also offering exclusive pile drivers that can be attached to the figure's hands in robot mode (see image below). A set will come with each purchase of MP-12 Lambor from Amazon, which is currently taking pre-orders for 5098 Yen (~$64 USD).

This mold will be reused for MP-14 Red Alert, which is set to be officially announced by Takara at Tokyo Toy Show this weekend.

Thanks to Hobbybase who have posted new hobby magazine images of the MP-23 Exhaust (Wheeljack) and MP-24 Star Saber figures to their Facebook page. Get a look at three pages showing many of the figure details with close-ups of the different features the MP-24 figure is overflowing with.
Hisashi Yuki has posted another new image of MP-24 Star Saber! This time we get the Autobots' Supreme Commander in vehicle mode, showing both Saber's jet mode and the V-Star booster. It's a versatile, detailed toy, and Yuki and TakaraTomy are making sure we see every facet of it in the buildup to release. Keep reading to see the image!
So, you might be wondering, what does Masterpiece Star Saber do with its sword when it's not being used? Well, in the most recent installment of Hisashi Yuki Hates The Fandom's Finances, he shows us it's the very same thing the original did, using slots in the frame of the V-Star to accommodate the blades. We're not sure if it has the fancy grab-and-draw function, but we have learned a smaller version of the sword is going to be included, presumably for better use with Saber himself when he's not all dressed up. Click through to see the full size image!
Hisashi Yuki either wants us to die of longing before March comes around, or is trying to make us sick of Star Saber first. The barrage of photos continues, but even for as many shots of the figure standing in place as come through, I can't help but enjoy seeing them. Though the images we're seeing currently reflect a hand painted sample, being a Masterpiece toy we should expect the final production version to look just as good! For your next regular dose of Star Saber, keep reading!
That was fast, huh? YouTuber OptimusPrimeSG has posted a review of MP-20 Wheeljack, Like the other Autobot Car Masterpieces, Wheeljack does a really solid job of turning a real car into a likeness of the animation model, and seems to have really great articulation at that. Keep reading to see the review!
