Toy Fair 2013 - Transformers Construct-Bots New G1 Style Toys With Interchangeable Parts

By Jack on Saturday, February 09, 2013

Hasbro have really slipped one past us this time with news just posted on Wired.com. Just when you thought you had a grip on this, ZAMMMMM! Transformers Construct-Bots - New G1 Style Toys With Interchangeable Parts jump out of no where with what is clearly the next Generation of Ker-O line, Bionicle KOs! This is so far out of left field, I am not sure what to think right now. Have a look and let us know what you think below. Read more details from Wired:
That missing element? The ability to customize Transformers to fit your own imagination. And now Hasbro is taking care of that with the advent of Construct-Bots, set to be revealed tomorrow at the UK Toy Fair. Construct-Bots will come in four different sets, but all of them will have parts interchangeable with the rest, and each will come with a re-sealable case to ensure your kids (or you) don’t lose the parts:

+ The Scout assortment of Construct-Bots will each retail for $9.99, and will have 10 characters, including Starscream and Ironhide seen above.

+ The Elite assortment of Construct-Bots will each retail for $14.99, and will have 10 characters, including Wheeljack and Soundwave seen above.

+ The Triple Changer assortment of Construct-Bots will each retail for $24.99, and will be just Bumblebee and Blitzwing (seen above) — but they’ll each transform into both a car and a jet.

+ The Ultimate assortment of Construct-Bots will retail for $34.99, and will come with both Optimus Prime and Megatron, both seen above. Both Transformers will include projectile-firing launchers.

Wowie! That's a lot of stuff out of no where, likely the warm up to Toy Fair is going to be showing us more than Beast Hunters! What do you think of these new figures? Hit out poll and left a comment below.

I love Kre-O and I admit these tickle my fancy. The timing of them is odd though. If they have stuff like alternate heads and parts, these could indeed be interesting for customs.

Why doesn't Hasbro just focus on the one thing they are pretty good at? Real transformers. Forcus your efforts on more MP characters and figures! Try tackling figures before all the 3rd parties take them from you. I don't get it.......it's like they have ADHDa....I am sorry but why d... read more

Thanks to Facebook member Louis Bernal who has shared a very cool idea of using the Transformers Construct-Bots part to up upgraded his Transformers Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime figure to make his very own "Jetwing Prime." I don't know why don't see more of this, but I have to agree with Louis, Gotta love the Construct-bots line of toys! See his him below of the FOC Jetwing Optimus Prime.
New images just in via Target.com of the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Construct Bots wave 1 elite class builder kits. Check out the official images of the Beast Hunters Optimus Prime, Shockwave and Sky Stalker. See all the figures shown in packaging as well as in their robot and alternate modes as well in the gallery below.
At first I was hoping this would be a new direction for the Constructbots line but ended up being more of what we've come to expect. Although it has a new transformation, at the core it's the same figure as any other Constructbot. I do like the look and think this is better than some Predakings we've gotten I can only recommend it if you find it at retail.
