Could Leonard Nimoy Voice The Fallen?

By bwbm on Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Continuing the string of possible pleasing of the fans, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen screenwriter Roberto Orci has put up the possibility that Leonard Nimoy may return to the Transformers Universe and lend his voice to The Fallen.

"I actually talked to [Mr. Nimoy] about it, [and] given the odd coincidence that he is [Director] Michael Bay’s cousin through marriage," Mr. Orci writes on the official website of producer Don Murphy.

However, don't get your hopes up too high yet. "Fan outcry has also put [Frank] Welker in the running."

This is an interesting development, as Mr. Bay has previously said that he'll pursue Mr. Welker for the voice of Soundwave, but not The Fallen.

Could this signal that Mr. Welker will be voicing two voices for Revenge? Or is Mr. Orci simply covering his own hide so we don't chew it if Mr. Nimoy doesn't get the job?

After so much time on Earth, the Fallen should know some native languages by now. A little off-topic, if Ultra Magnus was in Transformers 3, it would be neat if Kevin Costner did his voice. That way we could get two actors who played Elliot Ness as Ultra Magnus.

The Fallen doesn't need a voice... but if they insist on having him talk in the movie, then at least make it where he only speaks Cybertronian.

Saying lines as ones-self doesn't an actor make. He is Mr Spock, all other roles are lackluster hell even Stephen Hawkins shows more emotion in his voice...

Wait, did this article just implicitly suggest that the Fallen is actually/is part of/is analog to Galvatron? No, wait wait, be more cynical. They're just including Nimoy to catch some fan splash-off from the upcoming new Star Trek movie. The fact that Nimoy also has a small connection to the ... read more

Leonard Nimoy's got a great voice for voice acting, and he obviously enjoys it seeing how many times he's voiced himself in Both The Simpsons and Futurama. I'm pretty sure if they're actually trying to get him in on this that he'll do it.

In a keynote at MIP Junior 2015, Hasbro's Stephen Davis touched on many topics related to the company's media franchises. In the process of answering questions, he revealed that the recently concluded writers room did not just plan Transformers 5, but that they worked to plot Transformers movies for the next ten years, which he suggests will take the property through an eighth film. He also specifically mentions Michael Bay's involvement once again, to no one's particular surprise. Video of the event has been posted to Youtube, so click through to have a look!
Today Deadline is reporting that TJ Fixman, known perhaps best to this audience For his contributions to the Ratchet & Clank series, has been hired in to Hasbro Studios as a creative consultant. Fixman's role will be to work with the existing media producers to help develop the fiction and media sides of the major brands, including Transformers. It sounds like Hasbro Studios is making a serious effort to up their media game, and only time will tell what influence will be seen from this latest addition.
Thanks to Genmon Photo Vault on Facebook, we have some nice photos of the Platinum G1 Dinobots. These are the Generations Series AOE Dinobots in classic colors and with G1-based robot heads, which for better or worse are probably the nearest we're going to get to true Classics Dinobots anywhere in the foreseeable future. Fortunately on that front, these come off looking quite nice with these decos and their retooling. Click through to check out the photos!
Hold up before you sign that check and buy a used car, because there's a statue of a robot you may want to think about first! Prime 1 Studio has posted an extensive image gallery of their elaborate Museum Masterline Transformers Galvatron statue, and it looks pretty impressive! (As it should for an SRP of $1,899 USD!) The Exclusive edition - limited to 888 pieces where the Standard run is 1,000 - includes Megatron's severed head. Keep reading to see!
In a message posted just a short time ago to michaelbay.com and his own Twitter account, Michael Bay states that as of right now he has not officially joined the production of the next Transformers movie. In the very brief and to-the-point statement, Bay notes that he has taken at least one meeting already and that things are being discussed. However, given Bay's track record, we don't expect to see Transformers 5 with someone else ultimately in the director's chair. Stay tuned here for more updates!
