Cybertron: The Ultimate Collection DVD Coming July 22

By bwbm on Monday, April 14, 2008

Hasbro and Paramount Home Entertainment have announced that they will release Transformers: Cybertron: The Ultimate Collection on July 22, 2008.

This set is sure to be a hulking size with a runtime of a full 19 hours and some spare minutes. Oddly enough, the specifications we currently have list it as having one disc, which is most definitely wrong.

Pricing is not available at this time, but stay tuned as we get more information for you.

Until then, check out the details we have so far below.

Street Date: July 22, 2008

Genre: Action/Adventure, Animation, Family

Synopsis:
Optimus Prime and the Autobots face the greatest danger in all eternity, a menace that threatens not only the survival of the Transformers, but the very existence of CYBERTRON and the universe itself. CYBERTRON, the TRANSFORMERS home planet is on the brink of destruction as an ominous Black Hole looms. In order to save their world, the TRANSFORMERS embark upon an intergalactic scavenger hunt across the universe searching for the lost Cyber Planet Keys.

The evil DECEPTICONS, villains unlike any you have seen before, are in a race against the Heroic AUTOBOTS to recover these lost Cyber Planet Keys - keys that have the power to unlock the CYBERTRON planet itself, creating the greatest TRANSFORMER the universe has ever seen! The battle will span the galaxy in a race to wield the all powerful Planet Keys and to save their home world of CYBERTRON from certain DOOM!!

no, no they don't. not until they're willing to do a decent translation job and offer subtitles. i just don't see that happening here in the states. something about transformers being seen as a children's program makes me feel as though they'd censor the farg out of it.

That's easy - Supreme Cheetor was a gift from Satan.

Why did we get Supreme Cheetor? I would guess that other then the planetformers, there's really no reason or storyline behind a Supreme class figure. Anyway, overall I thought Armada was ok. I stayed with the UT through Armada and around fifteen or so episodes of Energon.

So if SS stays the same size then what was up with Supreme SS? I always figured he got bigger in the show for some reason, but I didn't stick around to find out.

Possibly, but Blu-Ray Discs are not backwards compatible.

The "1 Disk" could be just a regular DVD quality print on a blueray disk. That might be able to hold all 19 hours, right?

To answer your questions in order. Yes (No Unicron just B.H.), no (SS stayed the same size) and yes (Primus Transformed. Wasnt all that cool) Although some of this stuff was REALLY BAD, i DID like the series overall. Some day i will get this set.

Only if we get Beast Wars. I might buy Cybertron if it gets a UK release, no way in hell I'll import it though.

So what happened in the end? Did they defeat Unicron or the black hole or whatever? Was Starscream embiggened? Did you ever get to see Primus transform and pwn stuff?
