Back in early the 2000s, just about anything Transformers was a rarity. Today, it probably seems a bit strange that Takara made gobs of non-transforming PVCs. The Super Collection Figures (SCF) were sold in 10 different ACTs (waves), each character replicated faithfully from their cartoon robot modes, some from memorable scenes in the Transformers past.
Today's Prime shot takes a look at one of the hardest to find of the SCF chase figures, both because it was scarcely packed with just one to every 10 cases, and everyone wanted the 2001 ACT 5 Alloy Convoy w/ Matrix. The homage reflects the Transformers Generation 1 Season 3 "Return of Optimus Prime Part 2" cartoon where Optimus Prime is covered in a resistant metal alloy and uses the wisdom of the Matrix to "Light their Darkest Hour" and saves the Transformers from the Hate Plague.
