Daily Prime - Titanium War Within Optimus Prime

Die-cast construction was a lost art, until Hasbro's acquired Micro Machines maker Galoob and started rolling out the Transformers Titanium series toys in 2006. These mostly all-metal figures, aside from the weapons and wheels, were offered as character accurate mini-statues in the Robot Masters 3-inch scale and the more dynamic but less accurate in the Cybertron Heroes 6-inch line where articulation and transformation were added to designs.

Maybe the most exciting aspect of the Titanium line was we got characters that had never been realized in toy form before, especially the War Within Optimus Prime. Today's Optimus Prime shot is focused on all of the War Within Optimus Prime Titanium figures that were introduced to fans in the Dreamwave Comic series. The heavily Cybertronian look was a favorite for the science-fiction robot and truck modes. Hasbro produced three distinct 6-inch versions and one 3-inch version in which there were two variants.
