It is very rare that both the cartoon and the toys are good, and the Robots In Disguise (2015) is no exception. What was rolled out as the follow-up to Transformers Prime with Bumblebee in command gave up the 3-D CGI for a 2-D cartoon look that was completely different.
Design-wise, the simpler but highly stylized Mecha-Samuari feel for Optimus Prime is really pretty cool. Hasbro and Takara scaled this design up and down and repainted it many times. The Power Surge versions really shine for me with the electric colors, shoulder cannons, and swords that store on his back.
