Autobase Aichi has posted images from a giveaway DVD in Terebi-Kun magazine (More or less "TV Magazine Junior") that show the QTransformers with a selection of Lost Age/Age of Extinction characters, plus G1 Sideswipe and Prowl! The images also suggest animation is on the way, and features Japanese versions of the How To Ride Your Dinobot shorts. Similar in style to the old Choro-Q toys, QTransformers (or Cute Transformers if you prefer) are little SD mini-cars that turn in to various characters. If you're in Japan between August 9th and 17th you may want to check out the Transformers Expo, the TakaraTomy-run event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Transformers brand. A map of the expo has just been published, giving hints at what you'll see where. Interestingly there's a silhouette of movie Megatron's head in the section describing the "Megatron area"- has Movie Optimus Prime donated a trophy for the event? Keep reading for all the details!
Remember when video game consoles used to actually come with a game? TakaraTomy remembers. Mega Drive Megatron is going to include a replica of the Japanese version of the Sonic the Hedgehog cartridge from 1991. The Japanese version of Sonic is slightly more refined than the US Sega Genesis release, with more parallax scrolling and a rippling effect underwater. None of which matters, since this is a non-playable dummy cart to make your Megatron look cool. Keep reading to see the blast processing for yourself!
Thanks to TAG Hobby we have a new New Convoy pens Image from Wonderfestival In Japan. Get a look at the mold that is being offered in G1, Nemesis and Ultra Magnus editions. These figures feature a surprsingly detailed robot mode for being the size of a pen, albeit a large one. Read on to see the figures for the full details on these toys.
Planet Iacon has posted new scans showing off Masterpiece Star Saber along with his smaller component robot, Saber. His Brainmaster component, the Brain of Courage, is not shown, or at least not clearly visible at this resolution, but he does have an opening clear-plastic cockpit and there might be something in it...? Keep reading to see the scans and judge for yourself.
