ECTOTRON DESIGN - Ken Christiansen Ain't Afraid Of No Revisions As Original Art For Ghostbusters CrossOver Is Revealed

Ken Christiansen has posted to Facebook to reveal his original design artwork for Ectotron, the fantastic crossover figure that gets Ghostbusters in your Transformers and vice versa. While the final product was heavily modified from this original image, the overall color scheme and head design carry through to the toy itself.

We also learn a couple of interesting things in the comments! The design director for the Ectotron project was one Aristides Membreno, who reminds Christiansen of just how long the production cycle for the figure was: roughly 2-3 years. Which makes sense to us as that tracks back to about when the Combiner Wars Hot Spot engineering family was just hitting shelves. A good time for Hasbro to (very cleverly!) work the basic mechanics into a similarly long vehicle mode!
