*Pays, like, $20 for a Deluxe* That is all.

With all of this talk about cost, it should be noted that a vintage Sky Lynx, Omega Supreme, and Metroplex all cost more than the Encore reissues. Furthermore, Encore Metroplex is cheaper than the knock-off.

True enough. That goes with any hobby though. You have to budget and pick and choose what parts mean the most. But I agree, there is a lot of complaining about prices in TF fandom. As someone who JUST got out of sports jersey collecting, I can say TF collecting is much kinder on the wallet.

True, but if you're dirt poor you probably shouldn't be collecting anything I had to cut out main line and movie stuff all together so I could keep buying high-dollar reissues and BT's. As it is I had to skip Sky Lynx, but I might go back for him one of these days. Metroplex and Om... read more

Well, then yeah, you're right. Sky Lynx, Omega Supreme and Metroplex in such a short period of time is quite crazy. That's like us collecting SOC, CM's and Yamato, we just got the $200+ Godmars last week, there's another $150+ figure to be released at the end of the month a... read more

well it is getting kind of pricey. It isn't that any one item is over priced, it's that we're all trying to buy 100+ items in a given quarter. That's expensive. But Metroplex and Omega Supreme were high enough on my want list to make me put everything else on the back burner.

I laugh when I see fans saying stuff like they would never pay $12 for a deluxe when the price "is supposed to be $10". Gimme a break.

Of all the things to collect, I would say toy collecting is one of the more affordable options.

No offense to anyone (and it's not like I'm made of money either), but with all the cries of "I can't afford it!" with every new toy that comes out I'm starting to think that TFans are either the most destitute fandom on earth or most of us are collecting the wrong thin... read more
