By Jack on Wednesday, January 09, 2013

Thanks to forums member foklau at ACToys we some of the first looks at the Takara Tomy's latest Encore re-issue with the Transformers 20A Anime Devastator gift-set. The in-hand images show the toys that have been reduxed G1 cartoon style with an new head sculpt and recolored parts in the box only. But the G1 goodness shines through the close ups of every toy in-package. Check out the images of the Transformers Encore 20A Devastator - G1 Constructicons Gift Set In-Package Images now.

It's rare to get a toy of Megatron or Optimus Prime and not find a contest-exclusive variant to pop up eventually, and MegaDrive Megatron is no exception. Famitsu has posted details about the chance to win a special edition Megatron by purchasing a Sega rerelease compilation for the 3DS and filling out a survey between December 18th and January 31st. As with all proper Lucky Draw items, this Megatron is plated head to toe in gold chrome and is limited to five pieces. Click through to check out the pictures. Sunglasses recommended!
TakaraTomy is starting a new contest next year in Japan, tying the release of MP-22 Ultra Magnus into the QTransformers line and its smartphone remake of the Mystery of Convoy game for the Famicom. Pretty natural fit, since in that game you play Ultra Magnus after Optimus Prime's disappearance and presumable death. Mainly what this all means to US viewers is a neat promotional image based on the "Death of Convoy" teaser ad for Transformers 2010, AKA Transformers G1 Season 3. Keep reading to see that image and the original ad!
Thanks to Autobase Aichi who have posted a collection of images from the Transformers Carnival in Makuhari Shintoshin Event. Held this weekend at the AEONMALL Makuhari New City Toyosuna, Mihama-ku, Chiba City Chiba Prefecture in Japan. We get a look at a large display featuring Transformers 4 Age of Extinction movie characters along with numerous toys, large Optimus Prime statues from various series, movie Bumblebee statue and Chevy Camaro vehicle, games and more. Read on to see the images and translated report.
Autobase Aichi has posted Amazon Japan listings for the first eight QTransformers along with a price - 1079 Yen each, or roughly $10. Which seems a bit high for squatty little Choro-Q inspired figures. But more importantly, we've got sizeable photos for six of the eight figures, including all four G1-inspired figures. Keep reading for details on all eight, plus the photos!
Kotobukiya has posted a pretty big gallery of images of the upcoming D-Style Megatron kit! It's nicely poseable, especially for a kit of this squatty body type, and comes with a few accessories. Beyond a separate gun-mode Megatron and the ubiquitous energy mace, Megatron comes with three separate faces. Out of the three - Frowny Face, Shouty Face, and Sneery Face - I think Shouty Face is my favorite. Keep reading to see the mirrored gallery!
