Transformers Encore Fortress Maximus and Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave Delayed
Jack - Monday, November 12, 2012

Thanks to the CyberGundam blog we have work that TakaraTomy have announced there will be a delay in the release of the Transformers Encore Fortress Maximus and the Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave. The Encore Fortress Maximus will released on March 30th, 2013 instead of the original February date. The Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave will be released on January 26, 2013 instead of the December 15, 2012 date. We know many of you were looking forwards to these toys. Hopefully, these are the only figures held up.

While I could handle it, I can do without one more credit card charge in December. As for Fort Max, the delay will give me more time build up the "war chest" of money I use for such purchases.

I think it's good. Should have money back from my taxes by then to spend on them.

As long as they are coming, I am happy with the delay. Allows me to refill my coffers after all that spending I did on the TRU exclusives. I am sure I spent over $200 in the past month alone on those exclusives. Also, between my pre-orders and gas spent trying to find above said exclusives, my ... read more

That works in favor of folks who wanted to use their tax returns to score Fort Max so good for them at least!

Well bummer! I was really hoping to have Soundwave between Christmas and my birthday, now he won't be here until about 3 weeks afterwards. Kinda good about FM, maybe I'll get enough together for him, but he's kind of an after thought ... SW was my big one!

Actually happy Fort Max got pushed back a bit, the later his release date is, the more likely it'll be that I can afford him. A little bummed about Soundwave, but I guess it'll have to be a birthday present to myself instead of a Christmas present, so no real big, especially since we're ... read more

More MasterPiece News
Have you ever wondered what your Masterpiece Transformers might look like if they were 90% transparent? Probably not, which I think makes this find all the more interesting. In the Transformers Masterpiece Zone Facebook group, Justin Hollers shared some images of what you get when you photograph Masterpiece figures. With X-rays. The metal components remain opaque, but everything else becomes translucent. Interestingly, some of these even end up looking like schematics or CAD lines. It's an interesting and unique look at these figures. Check it out mirrored below!
Dengeki Hobby has posted a couple of news stories to get us up to date on TakaraTomy's ever-popular Masterpiece line! First up is the official package art for MP-36 Megatron, and you can just about hear Frank Welker's maniacal cackle looking at the image. Also of note are some reissues due for April next year - keep reading for the specifics!
Now up for preorder – MP-37 Masterpiece Artfire! A recolor of MP-33 Inferno that pays homage to this legendary Japanese exclusive Targetmaster, preorder yours today at TFSource.
Via Loopaza on Facebook, we have our first look at Masterpiece Artfire! Just a matter of hours after its existence was first revealed, we can now see exactly what's coming our way in 2017. Besides of course the new deco, which incorporates elements of the toy's sticker detailing, Artfire comes with his very own articulated Nightstick Targetmaster partner. There's several angles plus nice closeups on the brand new Targetmaster mold, and you can see them all in the gallery below!
This week on Radio Free Cybertron: Big news on this week's show, as we announce that we now have our own Roku Channel! Diecast and Brian have Inferno, and a few differing opinions on the toy. Photos emerge of Platinum Edition Year of the Rooster Optimus Prime, and Platinum Edition Unicron. The guys weigh in. The Conclusion to Prime Wars Trilogy was revealed, along with two new upcoming cartoon series! Diecast gushes on the new color photos of Fanstoys Phoenix AKA NOT Skyfire, everyone gushes on Maketoys RE:Master Contact Shot AKA NOT Pointblank, and we cap off the show with our 2016 Holiday Buying Guide! All that and more on this DOUBLE-SIZED edition of Radio Free Cybertron!
