Energon Combaticons Re-released For 25th Anniversary

By bwbm on Sunday, October 12, 2008 @ 01:39:25 PM

Thanks to "yizhi521" of TF08, we have learned that the Transformers Energon-era Combaticons will be re-released as part of the Transformers Universe 25th Anniversary celebration. "Yizhi521" has graciously provided us an image of the set's instruction sheet, which reveals that the figures have been renamed. To see what each figure has been renamed and for some new looks of Legends Brawn and Beachcomber, click into the TFormers Community.

1) Stormcloud as Blast Off
2) Blight as Vortex
3) Barricade as Onslaught
4) Blackout as Swindle
5) Kickback as Decepticon Brawl

Well, it isnt' like their names will be tattoo'd on the figures... Oh, wait (* looks at other figures with BOLT-25, etc. *), maybe they will be. Joking aside, reuse of the name is probably a very big indication that this is going to be a store exclusive.

For a better head just take out your Dremel, and cut off his ears. Then make him a face mask with either contour putty or, sheet plastic.

Satans Camaro, this set has Onslaught in it too, not Barricade (thank god). Im happy with this set being released as an alternative to G1 enthusiasts for the combining part. Im just gonna skip the $27 dollar Onslaught and spend a few more (or less hopefully like my Classics Dev via $10) t... read more

I have always been a fan of combiners and was hoping for more of these since classics Devastator. I actually missed out on this piece from the Energon line so I will definitely be picking this up. Not to bothered about the names, I can use my imagination, it is still Bruticus after all! I just h... read more

hmm....if those "energon" hands and feet end up being clear red....that will be interesting....in a possibly good way. but silver/gray would be better. oh, and to solve the whole "two Onslaughts" problem - Onslaught is the standalone Combaticon, with Barricade as a sub-commander ... read more

I'm sure I've mentioned it before elsewhere... reissuing these energon combiners for Classics is a good idea (for the most part). In this particular case, the issue I have with this set is the names only. They've already issued Onslaught as a standalone piece. The rest of them can ver... read more

If this is being sold as some kind of G1 tribute, I think the least Hasbro could do is make those parts in gray, green, black, you know, something normal.
