Evolution of Animated Lockdown Character Design

By bwbm on Monday, May 19, 2008 @ 08:35:06 AM

Derrick Wyatt, the art director and lead character designer for Transformers: Animated has provided us a look at the evolution of Lockdown's character design.

The original look and feel of Lockdown was "much more of a lumbering Frankenstein monster type," wrote Mr. Wyatt on his blog.

"The end result...has a much less monsterous feel. He's all business now." Take a look over on his blog, A Delightful Tedium.

I like what we have gotten since the current design is far more sleek and gives off a cool "I don't care" look

Sari's not a robot Anyway, back on topic - I prefer the new Lockdown, but the little grabby arms and skeleton chest would have been cool to keep...

I love his new look! At first it freaked me out then i realized how awesome he looks! Now Lockdown is even cooler than before! I wonder what vehicle he'll turn into.
