By Visitor on Monday, January 29, 2007 @ 09:01:35 AM

Our good friend Remy has posted a gallery of images showing the Energon repaint of Slugslinger as Airrazor. This figures is slated to be released soon as a Transformers Club exclusive. See the images now at TFKenKon.com.

Looks nicely done. The head fits the character (and is way better than the original for the mold in question) and so the colors. That's the way I would like recolors would be done ALWAYS!

The Transformers Club makes scalping an art form. Charging $50 for a deluxe toy is ridiculous. I am sure they are laughing all the way to the bank. Ain't my money they are putting away. Suckers!

It is definately not a bad job. And, I wouldn't have a problem paying that price since it is a limited edition piece and because of the amount of work which went into retooling it. The only real problem I have with it is that Air Razor is a fembot, and that mold is anything but feminine. It is decidedly masculine in form. IMO, [i]Cybertron[/b[ Skywarp would probably have been a better choice. I was able to take an LOC version of that character and, with only a slight retooling oif the head, and the addition of some square tubing to the upper back and chest, I was able to make a very feminine character out of it. Even then, I could have left the torso alone and just retooled the head and repainted it and get a fem out of the mold. The Delux version wouldn't be any different in that regards. IF they had to use an Energon figure, Energon Starscream would have been a better choice.

Thing is...when Takara make remolds/recolours, like DVD exclusive bots, etc, they dont usually charge so much money for them.

I understand that this is a third party commissioned piece, and as such, the toys are more expensive. I also understand that Hasbro is testing the water still, even at this stage with "limited editions".

I just hope it pulls it's finger out of it's ear and actually starts making affordable exclusives plus helps to take the "con" out of BOTCON, eh?
