Game Informer continues their
Transformers Fall of Cybertron coverage, and the insight you have been waiting for on the Dinobots has finally arrived.
THE DINOBOTS
The magazine spoke with Game Director Matt Tieger and Cinematic Director Dave Cravens from High Moon Studios about crafting a brand new origin story for these Dinobots, who are integral to the story in
Fall of Cybertron.
These characters are "powerhouses" and Mr. Tieger says that Grimlock would have been a tank (a la Dreamwave Productions'
The War Within), he really wanted a space T-Rex.
In the
16-minute video posted by Game Informer, they talk about the Dinobots, and how they were summarily tortured and rebuilt by Soundwave.

RETOOLED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
In other entries into the month-long coverage of
Transformers Fall of Cybertron, High Moon details the retooled artificial intelligence, which was touched upon in the magazine's cover story.
As it has been referenced in previous coverage, the Ai is not designed for a specific level, as opposed to the generic classes of AI that was developed for
Transformer War for Cybertron.
There is an enemy called The Leaper that, as its name suggests, leaps around a lot, and is seen mostly on open and large levels. These enemies are nearly-impossible to destroy from the front, so some clever maneuvering is required.
In contrast, the Decepticon Guardian has three separate modes: patrol, investigate, and battle. When the Guardian is on generic patrol, it is vulnerable; investigate mode is when a player is spotted of heard; and battle mode is a heavily-armored robot that is all-out attack mode and is much harder to destroy.

Another new AI type is Decepticon Wall Crawler, which is a flying sniper enemy. The hordes of these guys fly around and look for a suitable perch to snipe a player. Once it finds a perch, it attaches and is deploys the sniper laser, ready to attack.
These are just some of the AIs that have been developed and each AI will be encountered based on the character a player is controlling at that given time.
ANIMATING THE TRANSFORMERS
Finally, Game Informer has provided videos of the animators at work, showing the intricacies of building the robots of
Fall of Cybertron. For ones that are very interested in the development of these robots for a game, it is definitely worth a watch.
