Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I was told, the iGear seekers were retooled KOs of the official toys. Not much R&D needed for that.

Not true, the iGear Seekers were right around $100 a piece, which is approximately the same as it would be for a Takara release, minus the Takara add-on's

I believe you're right. I've never seen another third party toy costing as much as its official counterparts. $150 for this would definitely be worth it.

Exactly. this is, to my knowledge, the first time a 3rd party TF costs almost the exact same as its official counterparts. that alone is reason enough for me to buy it plus i love shocky lol

Let's be honest here. $150 is not bad considering MP Optimus Prime is now going for $130 on the TRU website. And to get Takara MP versions, you're paying big money as well.

More Third Party News
Thanks to Daim Choc who has been rounding up the images from Thailand Toy Expo 2015. We have a look at lots of new third party goodness including the MegaSteel MS-01 Granville, Maketoys Guardia (test shot), Maketoys RM-01 Cupola (test shot), Maketoys Guardia prototype, Maketoys Citizen Set 01 and more.
As discovered by Daim Choc on 2005, new photos of Mega Steel's MS-01 Granville have appeared on Weibo! The figure is a dead ringer for Don Figueroa's design for Megatron as seen in IDW's Stormbringer series, and is a not-unreasonable match for More Than Meets The Eye Megatron if the Combiner Wars Leader class figure isn't doing it for you. Keep reading to see!
X-Transbots has updated their Facebook page with a new cover image that depicts a Cyclonus-inspired vehicle flying with their Scourge-And-Sweep-alike Andras. Coded 86 MK-III, it seems that X-Transbots will be following on their not-Scourge with a similarly scaled Cyclonus figure. With this progression, can a Galvatron be very far behind? Click through to check out the image!
Courtesy of Daim Choc on Twitter, there's a new teaser image for SXS' latest figure: R-04 Hot Flame, which looks very much like it's based on Hot Rod/Rodimus' design from More Than Meets The Eye. Keep reading to see!
There’s a difference between fake or counterfeit Transformers that are meant to fool collectors into thinking they are buying official product and a bootleg that is immediately distinguishable from a Hasbro or Takara figure. While both are intended to profit from and take unlicensed advantage of the Transformers brand and its supporters, some collectors can find themselves quite drawn to particular knockoffs.
