Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I was told, the iGear seekers were retooled KOs of the official toys. Not much R&D needed for that.

Not true, the iGear Seekers were right around $100 a piece, which is approximately the same as it would be for a Takara release, minus the Takara add-on's

I believe you're right. I've never seen another third party toy costing as much as its official counterparts. $150 for this would definitely be worth it.

Exactly. this is, to my knowledge, the first time a 3rd party TF costs almost the exact same as its official counterparts. that alone is reason enough for me to buy it plus i love shocky lol

Let's be honest here. $150 is not bad considering MP Optimus Prime is now going for $130 on the TRU website. And to get Takara MP versions, you're paying big money as well.

MakeToys has announced via Twitter and Facebook that Galaxy Meteor, their unofficial rendition of Transformers: Cybertron Starscream, has been cancelled for low preorder numbers. They say they're "currently looking at ways of making the project more successful," which could mean anything from negotiating with specific retailers to looking for ways to reduce cost. It's difficult to say, but hopefully you didn't have your heart set on owning this any time soon. Keep reading for the details.
On Facebook, GCreations has posted an update featuring a color testshot of Fuuma, their unofficial version of Sixshot designed for a Masterpiece display. Noted as featuring various die cast metal parts and "hyper-articulated" joints in key locations, plus an array of accessories focused around the "Ninja" part of "Ninja Consultant". All of that is on display, as well as a run through of all the modes (with odd exception of the iconic submarine form) and some height comparisons with other unofficial figures to demonstrate the largeness of this new figure. We've mirrored all the images, check them out below!
Gorira Prime might sound like a likely name for a planet in some B-grade sci-fi, but in fact it's another upcoming Perfect Effect product. This is a redeco of Beast Gorira taking after the redeco of the real Optimal Optimus: Primal Prime. Look, it was the year 2000, we didn't have as many names to choose from in those days. Don't judge. Gorira Prime is expected to be released in November. No pricing information was officially released, but it can be expected to follow suit with Beast Gorira. Click through to check out the promo renders.
It looks like the unofficial Optimal Optimus will have an opponent in the near future. On Facebook, Perfect Effect has released the first tease for a new entry in their Perfect Beast series, a silhouette-style CG render of what is unmistakably Transmetal 2 Megatron. Even in this state it's clear the design has been passed through the Perfect Effect stylizing filter, which may or may not work for some collectors. And don't be surprised to see at least an additional blue version be announced before too long, too... Keep reading to see the full size image.
Now up for preorder at BBTS, Estimated to arrive November 2017. The PC-20 Perfect Combiner Upgrade is a repaint of the previously released PC-16 and is designed to work with the Comicon Exclusive Primitive Optimus Prime. This set includes a transforming figure, a breastplate, laser gun, neck kit, combine helmet and two interchangeable hands.
