First Look At Corvette Centennial Design Robot Mode?

By bwbm on Saturday, September 06, 2008

We have two images of what has been claimed to be the robot mode of the GM Corvette Centennial Design Concept from "Transformers Revenge of the Fallen."

The images were shared with us by "Blackout34," which was originally found by S250, a man who has been a reliable source in the past.

The first image is from a banned member of the ACToys forum. Posting on his own website, S250 writes that before a poster was banned from the ACToys forums, uploaded a photo of a head design that he claims to be the head of the ZR1.

S250 writes the individual was in possession of a design from "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

We can assume that the poster meant the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, the vehicle that some speculated what the Corvette Centennial was, based on a blurry set photograph.

The second image found is looks to be a full-look of the robot. Where S250 found this image is not explicitly stated, however, we are assuming its from the same source that shared the head design.

We here at TFormers think that this is pure fan art.

The reason is that judging from what we can see, the layout of the "concept art," differs from the layout of the leaked concepts from "Transformers," such as Bonecrusher and Jazz.

We work really hard to be the best resource for all your Transformers news and reviews every day. Keep your browser dialed to Tformers.com for updates as they happen.

We've now seen a toy car with this image molded on the bottom (cheap as hell- burger king or something)- so unless Bay is really going all out to throw us off this is apparently the real deal. I don't know what I think of this design. I don't hate it, but it doesn't exactly thrill ... read more

Looks like any other movie bot design IMO. Hopefully this is just an early rendition of the bot mode. Could be Blur Definitely fits the character.

Yeah, I actually like this design. It's not so much "more of the sake of more", it looks to me like someone spent the time to think about where the pistons and things should go and not just thrown in hap-hazardly... ... It can't be a real movie design.

I see primes face as more generic mask then gundam homage (tho his more human hips seem very very close) also gundam was not the first robot with a mask for a face so to say who's copying who I think would require a huge amount of research. but this vette guy seems to have the right vents and t... read more

True dat. And again I'm sure the toy will have some feature where he can deploy "normal" feet for display purposes.

Really? Those are my favorite parts. It's not often you get a car transformer that has the chest as the REAR of the car.

i hate the feet, and i hate that his chest looks to be the rear of the car. the head look way to beefy for a sports car transformer and it also looks to be in the same style as that early concept of primes head that we saw from botcon '07 when people went on a tour of the factory or in the dvd s... read more
