First Look at e-Hobby Mirage Clear Version

By News_Staff on Monday, August 13, 2007 @ 11:30:18 AM

Brace yourselves, here comes another Black Convoy style sellout! e-Hobby is getting ready to play it again with the high demand exclusives, this time with the BT Mirage Clear Version. Thanks to "killmetal" of the Asian newgroups who has shared the image with us. We get our first look at the alternate mode out of the box. You can see the pic here.

Same as Black Convoy? Yeah, but the only difference here is that *everyone* in the *world* had an equal shot to pre-order this guy, either directly from E-hobby or from a local online retailer. Ya snooze ya lose! I pre-ordered 2 of this guy, hopefully my extra can cover the cost of my BT.

Actually, "everyone" DIDN'T get a chance to order Nemesis Prime as E-Hobby made sure that all those ordering had to join up first and those wanting to join up had to use Japanese characters in order to imput their details, thus effectively removing anyone in the world without japanese keyboard support/language skills out of the equation.

They are also infamous for ignoring any emails in English even with Dragonx's great "how to order from e-hobby" guide at tfans.com AND despite the fact that they have an English message saying "for english help, please email us here" written in ENGLISH.

Anyway, the figure looks nice but I wish the regular version was available over here.

Still, who am I kidding? I just bought Alternator Hotrod for 60 buckeroos in Japan at Wonderfestival. Not THAT bad a price considering its not for sale over here.

Oh, my bad, you meant that everyone had the chance to pre-order this version of Mirage, correct?

Still, e-hobby are notorious for ignoring foreigners requests, especially ones in English.

Noticed how they no longer have English written descriptions of their toys anymore?

It's a kick ass mold. Quite possibly the best mold out of the entire line. I had to get both mirage and the japanese kiss player hot rod (which I fortunately prefer to the new US one everyone is trying to find).

But somehow this version just seems very strange and gimmicky to me (I understand the invisible part, but still...).
