I wonder how long they will stick with this packaging style? The thing that drives me nuts about Hasbro MP releases (besides the lack of distribution - which is a given) is that up until now almost every one of them has had different packaging. Takara has kept the same packaging for their MPs for over a decade now. How many toy lines can say that? I dont display my Takara MPs MIB, but I do like to have the empty boxes on display above the shelves. Even though the boxes are rarely the same size they just display so well.

I really like this look. Soundwave pulled it off very well and Prowls box looks even better in red. The only thing I dont like is that black wrap around flap with the pics of the toy, I dont think that was necessary. It should just be printed on the box. But its not really a big deal.

I think the Flap around the box was a good idea, since it sets a standard base box for all the MP figures that will use it. It saves on product packaging and design as they don't have to redesign every box every time around. All they need to do is make a new Flap which is more cost effective in the long run should we see Streak, Smokescreen, Sideswipe, Red Alert, Bumblebee...... One thing I did notice was there is no OEM Branding on them like the Takara one saying Nissan.....interesting. :tfevil

Anybody seen a comparison of this one to the Takara version yet?

Nice. They are using the new style of packaging which I like. From the conversion rate I found this one is like $99 USD when I convert the 59.99 British Pound price to USD. I don't get why it's more than Takara version though. I thought it was going to be a 2 or 3 pack when it came out. :tfevil
