First Looks at Dark of the Moon Deluxe Skids, Totally Confirms the Character

By bwbm on Monday, January 17, 2011

Yesterday, we told you about the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Legends Skids figure, and today, we get a first look at the deluxe class toy of the character.

Like the Legends version, the Deluxe is very loyal to the real-life Chevrolet Spark.

The deluxe class figure of Skids from Dark of the Moon shows off a similar face, with some new color applications (Tuner Skids shown here)

These images also give us solid confirmation (as if the two identical vehicles with either green or orange racing stripes tolling around didn't give it away) that this character and figure will indeed be Skids.

The figure has one of the two faces that launched a thousand words filled with hatred from the Transfan community.

The figure's face seems like it will receive a color lift.

As we have seen so far with deluxe class figures for the Dark of the Moon toyline, this figure will also receive a rather large gun for the MechTech gimmick.

MechTech, following the Mech Alive gimmick for Revenge of the Fallen, will allow the combination of various weapons.

Take a look at the images in this ACToys thread and discuss in the forums!

My thoughts exactly. I have the original Deluxes, the Tuner versions (for my NEST strike teams), and the Human Alliance figs. Fun molds all around. Even the characters were somewhat entertaining, esp. in the background and the Devastator fight.

I don't buy movie toys, so that's ok with me.

Even if they get killed off in the opening scene we'll still get 10 versions of each of them. Hell ROTF had 19 different Mudflap toys (link)

So every toy will now come with an oversized gun huh? I just can't stand that head sculpt. That is about the only thing I don't like about it. I doubt that they will get killed off right away as that just doesn't seem to be the way Mr. Bay does it. Someone who pulls the stings on these... read more

i like this toy. i've never been one of the guys who hates skids and mudflap. i actually found them quite entertaining. and i always liked the figures. the black looks good, and somehow the BFG works for him.

I say his face looks like a Looney Tunes character after using one of ACME's products.
9:06 pm

His head looks like that retarded Gremlin from Gremlins 2.

In a keynote at MIP Junior 2015, Hasbro's Stephen Davis touched on many topics related to the company's media franchises. In the process of answering questions, he revealed that the recently concluded writers room did not just plan Transformers 5, but that they worked to plot Transformers movies for the next ten years, which he suggests will take the property through an eighth film. He also specifically mentions Michael Bay's involvement once again, to no one's particular surprise. Video of the event has been posted to Youtube, so click through to have a look!
Today Deadline is reporting that TJ Fixman, known perhaps best to this audience For his contributions to the Ratchet & Clank series, has been hired in to Hasbro Studios as a creative consultant. Fixman's role will be to work with the existing media producers to help develop the fiction and media sides of the major brands, including Transformers. It sounds like Hasbro Studios is making a serious effort to up their media game, and only time will tell what influence will be seen from this latest addition.
Thanks to Genmon Photo Vault on Facebook, we have some nice photos of the Platinum G1 Dinobots. These are the Generations Series AOE Dinobots in classic colors and with G1-based robot heads, which for better or worse are probably the nearest we're going to get to true Classics Dinobots anywhere in the foreseeable future. Fortunately on that front, these come off looking quite nice with these decos and their retooling. Click through to check out the photos!
Hold up before you sign that check and buy a used car, because there's a statue of a robot you may want to think about first! Prime 1 Studio has posted an extensive image gallery of their elaborate Museum Masterline Transformers Galvatron statue, and it looks pretty impressive! (As it should for an SRP of $1,899 USD!) The Exclusive edition - limited to 888 pieces where the Standard run is 1,000 - includes Megatron's severed head. Keep reading to see!
In a message posted just a short time ago to michaelbay.com and his own Twitter account, Michael Bay states that as of right now he has not officially joined the production of the next Transformers movie. In the very brief and to-the-point statement, Bay notes that he has taken at least one meeting already and that things are being discussed. However, given Bay's track record, we don't expect to see Transformers 5 with someone else ultimately in the director's chair. Stay tuned here for more updates!
