Ford Introduces Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Character Torque Based on Ford's Ranger Wildtrak

By Jack on Saturday, November 03, 2012

Auto site MotorAuthority has reveal Ford and Hasbro have collaborated on a Transformers: Fall of Cybertron character name, "Torque." Based on the Ford Ranger model that USA fans will be disappointed to hear is not available in their market. Touque follows the Falcatron character that was created last August with his selection determined by fans who chose the bright orange of the Ranger Wildtrak trim package as the Autobot character's inspiration.
This time the fans chose the Ranger, but in its range-topping Wildtrak trim. This model packs a 3.2-liter five-cylinder turbodiesel that’s rated at 197 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque.

Torque’s bright orange finish is available on the Ranger Wildtrak, though that’s about all he has in common with the actual production model.

Ford has said it plans to use Torque in some promotional materials, just like it is doing with Falcatron. However, don’t hold your breath waiting to see either in Transformers 4--they were created just for Ford’s own promotional use.

This is Fords attempt at trying to be like GM. GM has been getting all the exclusives with the movies, so now Ford is trying to really jump on. As much as I hate the new Bumblebee, he'd still kick this guys arse!! Sorry, cars are my second hobby and I hate Ford.

Makes zero sense to lump this guy in FOC, I didn't realize that Ford Rangers originated millions of years ago on an alien planet.....

I'm wondering if Ford is bother too, or if Hasbro is trying to create an exclusive figure of him, or not.
