Simon Furman has given some transfans a Christmas treat by divulging the script to the Beast Wars series that he wrote for Dreamwave Productions, called "Shell Game." The series never came to be, of course, due to the Dreamwave's demise, and differs significantly from the story that came out from IDW Publishing's Beast Wars: The Gathering mini-series, says Mr. Furman. To take a look at the script, head over to
Mr. Furman's blog.
The series was supposed to tie into the
Summer Special, which featured both Beast Wars and Robots In Disguise stories. Fans voted as to which generation was to get its own mini-series, with Beast Wars winning hands-down.
The series went as far as an official announcement of the series occurred in
October 2004 and a
solicitation for January 2005.
The book was to mark the 10th anniversary of Beast Wars generation and written by the Dreamwave powerhouse duo of the time, James McDonough and Adam Patyk.

Art was done by the still well-known artist Don Figueroa. To help promote the series, Dreamwave ran a treasure hunt that spanned across five different days across several fan websites with 24 pieces in total. TFormers itself
received three pieces of the puzzle.
The full incentive cover has been lost in the never-ending depths of the intertubes (although I am sure somebody has it saved on the hard drive somewhere), but it was quite a site to behold.
Several months after Dreamwave
called it quits, three pages from the series
surfaced. It is assumed Mr. Figueroa provided these pages to give us a look at what was to come.
