Ganbo, ToyHobby Announce Gentei! Thrust & Dirge!

By News_Staff on Wednesday, October 29, 2008

If BotCon Dirge and Thrust left a bad taste in your mouth or could not purchase them, here is your chance to own the last two seekers from the good ole' G1 days in TakaraTomy Henkei! Henkei! Transformers style. Just announced are Ganbo store exclusive Limited Edition Gentei Thrust and Toy Hobby Market Limited Edition Gentei Dirge.

"Gentei" literally means "limited" in Japanese.

Pre-orders will begin November 13, 2008 through December 10, 2008 retailing at 3,465 Yen each and are expected to ship to customers sometime in March 2009.

Judging by the silhouette, these will not be straight repaints and will have new unique wing molds which depict their G1 counterparts.

A limited number of the previous Ganbo store exclusive Thundercracker will also be available for order on November 6, 2008.

Thanks to our good friend Yone of Invincible Robot Laboratory for this exciting news!

Take a look in the gallery below for the images.

For the record, TFSource has their preorder up for $145.95, so roughly $20 cheaper than BBTS.

I want 'em terribly so...but I just don't know about spending that much for two Deluxes. But I did crack and get Henkai T'Cracker, so who knows.

Eh, cool but I think I'm just going to wait for full colored pics. I really want Thrust, but I really would like to see what his wings look like before pre-ordering.

LOL, If you like the TF and know what it actually is (follow up of the extremely rare and pricey botcon). Then you wouldn't even ask Hasbro to bring them over to the US. And importing them would be normal since 60 usd is cheap, if you look at the botcons. I still need to get a henkei thundercr... read more

*agrees* i almost wanted them enough to pay the outrageous botcon-after-the-fact-ebay prices. but 150-250 for a deluxe was enough to question my logic. but 60-80 or whatever i find these for (and better quality to boot) i will happily shell out money for.

Usually I hate repaints... but for me and a lot of peeps out there TFs are equally about a good toy and a good (great?) character. I can't deny that all of the seekers have something amusing about them so I'm getting all the characters I know. No matter how obscure. Now give me my lavender ... read more

I'd be sick of it if I didn't love it. Really, Ramjet's one of my favorite TFs... Starscream less so. For some reason, the Conehead just... pleases me more. And I wouldn't mind a Dirge so I'm hoping Hasbro brings them over. If not, no big deal to me, but it would be nice.
