Generations Devastator, MP-25, G1 Reissues And More New Details Revealed At Hasbro Product Meeting

A Hasbro (and apparently Takara) product meeting took place, and a member of the ACToys community was on hand to take notes. Subsequently, other fans have translated this quick report in to English, and we've got the highlights on upcoming G1 reissues, Generations Devastator and Defensor, and the next Masterpiece figure! Keep reading!

The report cites a few different areas of upcoming products. Reissues of Trypticon, a previously anticipated three pack release of the Conehead seekers, a set of Blitzwing and Astrotrain, and a set of Perceptor and Blaster stated to include the beast form cassettes and some possible functional modification to Perceptor's shoulder cannon/scope.

Some information is presented about Generations Devastator. It reaffirms the toy will be sold as a Titan Class, and seems to suggest that the individual components have simple designs, most likely meaning that they're consistent in design style with the Aerialbots and do everything they need to with the minimum number of moving parts and steps to get there. The Devastator shown at the event is described as "hand made" without moving joints, likely referring to an early stage prototype or testshot with glued or fused joints. Superion and Menasor were presented to us in much the same way, glued together because they were much more fragile than the final retail products would be.

Combiner Wars was noted as featuring Defensor later in 2015 with a new mold Hot Spot. Powerglide is noted to have a purple Decepticon recolor. We're speculating purple could have been a dark shade of blue, and this is the "DPT Viper" from recent inventory listings that may be a GI Joe-inspired deco. Warpath was confirmed, as was a "green tank" which we believe at this time likely to be Warpath's redeco as Sparkcruncher.

Japanese releases were largely glossed over, but included vague references to what might be the upcoming TakaraTomy editions of Combiner Wars toys, as there was note of "bundles" with chrome and more G1-accurate decos.

Finally, It was announced five Masterpiece figures will be released this year, and MP-25 appears to be Tracks (it was referred to as "what was rumored", though Ironhide and Tracks were both rumored to be MP-25 at different times) which will include a human figure and a scaled version of Blaster. It's also reported the G2-inspired Masterpiece Bumblebee redeco will come at a reduced price because Exosuit Witwicky is no longer included, in favor of the jetpack from Dinobot Island.

Our thanks to chroma23 of Cybertron.ca for the translation used to compile this report.
