Hasbro Answers Your Burning Questions Part IV!

By bwbm on Wednesday, June 03, 2009

Now that Hasbro has freed itself from the preparation and happenings of BotCon, they have provided us with the answer to our burning questions part IV!

TFormers.com: Will newly-introduced Transformers Animated characters from Season 3 such as Rodimus Prime or Strika be produced for the toyline?
Hasbro: While we can't comment on which specific characters will be available in the toy line, there are definitely a few that debuted in Season 3 of the Animated Series. [From BotCon 2009, we have since learned that Rodimus will indeed get a figure -ed]

Do you ever check out fan forums like TFormers.com, for customization ideas?
Considering the amazing stuff that fans create with mostly minor modifications & paint on existing molds it would seem like an excellent source of leads to expand the product lines while heavily reusing existing components.

As a team we often review many of the fan forums to keep our finger on the pulse of our collectors, but we do not and cannot use ideas from our fan base. We know that our fans come up with some great ideas especially when they coincide with where we are taking the brand!

Can we expect to see a "Premium" figure series in the upcoming movie line similar to the line from the 2007 film?
At the moment, there are no plans to offer a premium series line. Rather than offering more new decos of existing molds, you can expect to see more new molds in the realistic movie styling than you did in Spring of 2008 following the first film.

We work really hard to be the best resource for all your Transformers news and reviews every day. Keep your browser dialed to Tformers.com for updates as they happen.

The only premium figure I would want is a Leader Class Megatron with new arms...A left arm that's actually proportional to the rest of him....And a right arm that has a full range of articulation. A totally static arm on a leader class figure...Really there's just no excuse for that! Ok... read more

Yeah, with Cyclonus, they can actually make some pegs for his legs so they'll be able to hold together in Jet mode and put pegs under Nightstick's gun mode so he can peg into the back of the jet, making them looky sexy, and removing my qualms with the figure!

It's so they can make a premium line down the road.

I'd like to know if Hasbro, at all, feels guilty about it's embellished product images on the toy packaging. Yeah, "product and colors may vary," but it's still pretty bad. For example, I was looking at the ROTF Breakaway toy, and the package's photo looks so different fr... read more

I wasn't talking about painted plastic and molded plastic. I meant truly mismatched plastics, like on universe cyclonus's thighs. Two different shades of gray were used when it should have been one.

they've partially answered that in the toyline, look at figures like sideswipe and sideways, the whole vehicle is painted over instead of being molded silver in some areas and painted silver in others, so they're adressing the problem, yet they still haven't told us why it happened in th... read more

I think you misunderstood Hasbro. They did not say they were going to make better figures after instead of paint, JUST they would make better figures from the start with MORE MOLDS instead of repaints. Or so they say.
