Hasbro Releasing Shockwave HISS Tank As San Diego Comic Con Exclusive - UPDATED with Hi-Res Image
Peter Van - Friday, February 03, 2012

UPDATE: We have added a hi-res image of the Shockwave HISS Tank.

Buried deep in the announcement of their upcoming GI Joe Retaliation toyline, Hasbro Inc reveals that they will be offering Shockwave HISS Tank as a San Diego Comic Con exclusive.

Continuing the practice from last year when the company offered the extremely popular GI Joe Transformers Starscream Sky Striker and Cobra Commander, the company is offering the GI Joe Pursuit of Cobra HISS Tank with Shockwave's trademark purple color, complete with a large Decepticon insignia emblazoned on either side of the tank as well as the nose.

The figure will also get a new cannon on the top of the vehicle, similar to Shockwave's gun from Generation 1.

It is unknown if the figure will come with a driver, but we will know for sure next weekend, when we will be live at Hasbro's media day at Toy Fair.

The Starscream Sky Striker, one of Hasbro's SDCC exclusive last year, was extremely popular, selling out very quickly at the Hasbro Toy Shop booth at the convention and within minutes of the toy available for sale on HasbroToyShop.com.

For more information about the figures detailed in the announcement, check out ToyNewsI.com.

Why not just a Hiss Driver with a remolded helmet to look like Shockwave's head and a blaster arm? I'd dig that.

I would say Destro would be a great fit with this Hiss Tank

I would like to get this....will it come with a cool figure like SDCC SS? If its just the tank then I will wait and see. I still want to get the SDCC SS...I will get one eventually. Who would be the figure that would come with it anyways? Dr Mindbender? Serpentor? Destro? Or will it just be another ... read more

I wouldn't pay anymore then $35 for this. $20 for the toys itself and $15 more because it is an exclusive. But hopefully Hasbro will have something else that actually transforms for SDCC also

OK the barrel is kinda cool, but I'm not a fan of this Hiss design. It looks more like a bird or something. Does this toy match up to anything in the GIJoe comic or cartoon?

I like it better then Starscream but not enough to buy this. Didnt like Starscream enough to buy that either. I do like their thinking behind these exclusives though. Now for some TFs that are decoed into JOE vehicles.

I do like the Added addition of the 1985 Shockwave styled gun barrel to this hiss tank. no thanks,it doesn't transform into a robot,So it's an easy pass. Hasbro really should create a Cross-overs G.I Joe/TF toy line. where the G.I joe & cobra vechicles transformed into transformers ro... read more

Yeah, depends on price and availability. It's cool, but SDCC stuff isn't exactly easy to get without paying way more than it's worth. A transforming HISS Prime would be awesome tho, and I've wanted that since I saw the comic. Pretty big retool of the v5 HISS tho :o /edit: oh nvm, ... read more

Once again, Twitter user @miiakira2017 has posted an image of their Transformers-related design work. Today, it's a classic car- the specific make, if any, eludes RAC - that would have turned into a laser pistol-wielding cowboy. Though there's a slight resemblance to 2010's Hunt for the Decepticons Scout-class Hubcap, the replies peg this as a Diaclone-era design, so well before that figure was designed and likely a coincidence. Keep reading to see!
