Headmaster DVD Boxed Set Pics

By jack on Wednesday, September 04, 2002 @ 09:57:54 AM

Thanks to Shelly we have pictures and info on the newly released Transformers Headmasters complete box set by Pioneer on Japan. This 5 disc set includes all 35 episodes from the Headmasters series that was shown in Japan.

The Japanese Headmaster series was very different from the one shown in American. These shows include characters like Soundblaster, Twincast, Raiden, Fortress Max with Master sword, the Beast Formers as well as many other Transformers characters seen only in these Japanese episodes.

If you got $250 and can understand Japanese then this set is for you! Check out all the great stuff it comes with:

+ Five full length DVDs.
+ All 35 of the Japan Headmasters episodes.
+ Special catalog featuring the Headmasters concept drawings and art work.
+ Coupon for a special mail away catalog for premium figures.

don't worry. i'm sure some bootlegger in hong kong will rip the dvd collection and make bootleg dvd's that are alot cheaper than the original product. plus... i'm sure it'll have english subs.... but i doubt they'll have the book though

is there an english subtitling featured on this dvd?
anything is better than the old pathetic english dubbing.

If I understood Japanese, and had a Japanese-region compatible DVD player, and had $250 to blow, I would be all over this.

I would like to point out a mistake in the article concerning this Season of Transformers (which is 4)

I quote "The Japanese Headmaster series was very different from the one shown in American." The statement is false because only the first 3 episodes of headmasters were shown in America, because by the time they reach this point, the intrest in Trasnformers was starting to decline in the general populas. With that said if i had the money and understood Japanese, i would still definitly be buying this.

Actually, Headmasters ignores the episodes you mentioned (Rebirth parts 1-3) and continues the story in its own fashion. Rebirth was not in any part Headmasters.

The box art is horrible, i've gotten used to these dreamwave images now, everything else looks inferior. maybe we could start a petition to have the whole series re-dubbed and released for an english-speaking market, i know i'd be interested... i hated optimus sounding like he was a 15yo kid, all the TFs living on CyberTON, Spike gettin called Sparkle, Blaster called Billy and all those other mess-ups that were made... hmm, I think I could get by with english subtitles though.

Well its April and I don't see any bootleg VCD's on Ebay or anywhere else for that matter. I'm very interested if any R1 VCD copies of this series or especially Victory exist.

hello, I'm livin in Beijing China teaching english and kinda just happened upon this in a dvd shop. it was only 81 rmb which is like 10 us dollars. It doesn't have the book, and does not have english subtitles either, which sucks because the dvd ppl lied to me and said that it did, but for 10 bucks us, i'm happy;D
