Henkei! Megatron, Grimlock, Bumble In-Package Looks

By bwbm on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 @ 10:05:14 PM

Transformation! Henkei! Transformers, TakaraTomy's version of Hasbro's Transformers: Classics, launched today in Japan and in-package images have begun to flood the intertubes. We already saw Convoy earlier this week, but thanks to a couple of members from the Hong Kong Transformers Talk Group, we have in-package looks at D-01 Megatron, C-02 Bumble, and C-03 Grimlock.

I'm still bitter at Henkei Mirage. He's an awesome figure, and done poorly in the Henkei series. As I've said often before, the only ones I think are actually improvements are Megs (considerably) and Prime (slightly). The rest are downgrades, eithe slightly (Screamer), or considerably (M... read more

I've got my Henkei Megs on the way. Just waiting for BBTS to get in Astrotrain to complete my order. TTs versions look to be vastly superior to Hasbro's, but the only ones I must have are the two I ordered. I am thinking about Prime as well, but I think I can do w/o.

Megatron needs more silver chrome like his G1 counterpart. Grimlock actually looks pretty cool, but I'm not sure the randomosity of the chrome is cool. Optimus prime...a little more Geewunny than his us classics counterpart, but not too much different.

It's called an opinion. There are people who disagree with you. Learn to deal with it rather then demean people who's opinions differ from yours. I don't think jealousy is playing a part in this at all. As Hobbes pointed out, the fandom is generally ready to praise TT and blame Hasbro w... read more

THIS... is the only person i agree with here. I believe that you are ALL jealous maybe cuz you already bought the u.s. veersions, like i did... TWO TIMES EACH, and want reasons to think yours are better. IF this is not the way you feel i appoligize but i bet you see these up close in hands and you w... read more

That packaging is pretty lousy. It makes the nice toys look like knock-offs. Takara should used some sort of G1-inspired packaging.

I now have all the first wave cept Prime and Megs and I can say that they are all lovely. Id like BB to have had a warmer, canary yellow finish and I think Mirage would benefit from some clear reprolabels to go over his chrome parts but apart from that...lovely. Grimlocks white gnashers are a bit w... read more
