Hyper Hobby Magazine Transformers Updates

By Primus on Monday, January 05, 2009

Thanks to ModxToy.com who have posted news and images from the February issue #94 of Hyper Hobby Magazine, the Japanese toy collectors publication.

The magazine scans offer more new looks at the Transformers Masterpiece Grimlock showing more angles of the production ready action figure, details on its features like face visor, the back of the robot mode with jet-pack, the brain connector thingy and other close ups of the figure.

New images of Transformers Alternity Megatron show the unpainted prototype in robot mode as and multiple views of the alternate mode.

Also features are pending releases from the Henkei line including Cyclonus, Inferno and Ratchet. The Cyclonus figure is most prominent with multiple images in various modes and a good shot of Nightstick with chrome legs.

The magazine also offers us some new views on the Disney Label gray Mickey Mouse Optimus Prime variant. See close-ups of Mikey, the truck cab and Mech-bot modes.

I like how he has a hatch on his dino head I recall seeing that in the episode when they made the Dinobots (or maybe that's the only time I could think of it being used)

I really hope those flimsy dino arms are die cast and not chrome plastic. One fall, even a short one, could snap them if they hit at the wrong angle. I've repeatedly stated my distaste for Mickey-bot, but for some reason I kinda like the black and white version after seeing these better pics.

I wonder if the waiter tray is either an exclusive version, or nixed for the gun & sword only. I totally the jetpack on his Dino back! The whole thing just screams "awesome" to me.

I'm pretty sure we didn't get any comparison pics of MP Starscream either, until he was featured at a toy show alongside MP-04

Where's the drink tray? As for Grimlock standing next to other MP toys, I think we will first see that when MP Grimlock is presented at some kind of toy show in Japan.

I was referring to the bottom pic of him in Dino mode. The one in the middle showing him from behind.
