IDW Publishing is relaunching their Transformers comic book series tomorrow, January 11, 2011, with Transformers More Than Meets The Eye #1, and to get the blood flowing they have released a five page preview of the comic.


Written by James Roberts and drawn by Nick Roche, MTMTE is one half of the new launch (Robots In Disguise the other) follows Rodimus leading the search for the legendary Knights of Cybertron.

Those who follow him have various reasons for doing so, all of which plan to be discovered as the series progresses. But it pulls in a bigger picture with a farther reaching vision that is not limited to Cybertron itself.

When speaking back in October to the media to detail the changes and the themes we will see throughout these two new series, IDW's Senior Editor John Barber says that he and Mr. Roberts work closely to ensure that the stories make sense and are continuous.

Mr. Barber is writing Robots In Disguise.

The books will focus on a core cast, the publisher said back in October, and the books will shift the focus away from Earth after the events of Chaos.

These two books will be the core focus for IDW within their Transformers Universe for the time being.

Aside from Transformers #81 that is coming this Spring 2012 and Infestation #2, no other books, including Transformers Prime and Animated, are being planned at this time.
