Japanese Revenge of the Fallen DVD Confirms Animated As Next Takara Toyline

The Japanese have finally received their home media copies of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and the contents within the box confirm that Tomy Takara will be rolling out Transformers Animated as its next line. We reported previously on leaked solicitations that indicate Deluxe class figures will be coming out starting in March 2010.

One scan provided by Autobase Aiichi (translation), juxtaposes the Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers Animated versions of Optimus Prime while the second scan announces that the line will launch in Spring 2010.

The second scan also reveals that the N.E.S.T. Global Alliance will also be released in Japan starting next year.

It seems that Optimus Prime will revert once again the name Convoy, as he has always been known outside of the movie universe in Japan.

The name of the toyline has not been revealed.

Autobase Aiichi also reports that while Tomy Takara has committed to the toyline, it is unknown if they will also commit to the television series.

What kind of changes to the Transformers Animated toyline would you like to see from Tomy Takara? Sound off!
