Lego Launch Creator Transforming Toy Line - Can Habro's Kre-O Win The Building Block War?
Jack - Sunday, October 21, 2012

May of us wondered what Lego would do about about Habro's foray into building block territory with their Kre-O line. Lego indeed taken notice and responded with their very own Transforming toy-line effectively stealing back their stolen ideas, Touche Lego! They have listed a Creator figure on their site that shows a new kit for the "31007-1: Power Mech" that appears to be a "3 in 1" triple changer robot, to helicopter, to construction vehicle in modes and green colors you may recognize. It is not clear what Lego's real intentions are here with the Creator line, yet. We'll know if/when they roll out more toys.

We are dedicated to being to be the best resource for all your Transformers news and reviews every day. Keep your browser dialed to Tformers.com for updates as they happen.

I've seen a lot of Lego snobs dismissing this report as people over-reacting. They say there is no resemblence to Bulkhead, and that Lego creator sets that form a robot are nothing new, but one thing they don't address is that this isn't just a Lego Creator set that makes a truck or a ro... read more

I just picked Power Mech (not-Bulkhead) up today at Toys R Us, as well as his campanion piece, a robot/jet/car called "Thunder Wings".

That's pretty neat, all it needs is a Kreo style head and it would make a great Springer. or hell, make it orange and you got Sandstorm.

True, but that was a fight over a name,, not about the toys.

I've been collecting Lego products since 1994, but I'm sorry lego...I gotta give it to Kre-O between those and the Power Mech here Why? Articulation. I KNOW you could've easily made his knees bend too. Exo Force, anyone?

Lego would own Hasbro, as Lego has been doing this a lot longer than Hasbro. And all of Hasbro's have been crap since the get go, and Kre-O has been on the clearance shelves for months almost a year and still Hasbro thinks they can bring a profit

Greg "M Sipher" Sepelak has made an interesting discovery about the reissued blind-bag Kreon Micro-Changers appearing at US dollar stores - they're not reissues at all! They're entirely reversioned pieces using the updated 2015 Kreon body and entirely new tampograph applications. Keep reading for an example photo as well as more info on the differences!
You haven't seen the last of Kre-O in the US yet! Engledogg reports spotting two new $12 sets at his local Dollar General store. One features a repackaging of the Beast Hunters sub-branding Beast Blade Optimus Prime now as Beast Hunter Optimus Prime, and the other is a grouped set of the micro combiner Superion, Bruticus and Menasor, packaged as Combiner Robot Mega Pack. While for the remaining fans of the line this may not be the news they would hope for, it may still be promising that the branding is being kept going in some way in the US. Click through for box photos of the sets!
TFW2005 user Hollywood Hoist has found a nifty novelty: a new plush Optimus Prime that is clearly based on his Kreon minifigure! The plush is marked with a price of $19.99 and was found in a Washington-state Target store. Keep reading to see the photo!
If you've been hoping to get the Kreon Battle Changers and a deal on a pair of pants at the same time, you're in luck! TFW2005 board member almightymaximus has sighted the figures along with other late-model Kre-O sets at discount chain Marshall's! As is the usual pattern with a sighting at Marshall's, checking out its sister TJ Maxx stores may also be beneficial to you, and possibly even the unrelated but similar discount chains such as Ross. Keep reading for more details!
The SDCC Kre-O exclusive for the year is a pile of fun toys and references to pop culture, all plucked from 1985 and wrapped up in a spiffy yearbook package. And in addition to an attractive presentation, it's also the most cost-effective Comic-Con exclusive of the year! Continue to the review for video and photos!
