Lots More Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe Images

By Primus on Friday, February 20, 2009

Thanks again to Yayabee who's shared a lot more images of the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe deluxe action figure.

We saw this guy at Toy Fair and few shots recently, but here's a chance to really see the concept Corvette's action figure thoroughly from the ultra-sleek alternate mode to his really cool robot mode this is quite an impressive figure we're all going to be searching for May 30th.

GM pulled out all the stops for Micheal Bay. Giving him exclusive access to their studios, the explosive director has followed up 2007's Bumblebee / Camaro with the Sideswipe / Corvette for 2008. Another fantastic debut is made in Transformers. The only thing I can find fauly with is. Why wasn't named "Tracks" when they did end up using "Trax" for one of the twin Autobots?

The alternate mode is really quite impressive. Not only is the sculpt very close to the concept vehicle. The figure designers have done an exceptional job hiding the hinges and other kibble that can sometimes be visible. The addition of transparent blue windshield and split rear windows reflect beautifully on the luscious silver paint job.

Moving on the robot mode we are treated to views from every angle of the figure with some extra focus on his folding arm weapons / swords and the strange articulation around his groin that I am sure many of us have wondered about.

Its hard not to compare this toy to the Alternators line. Sure they are scaled down, but the superior sculpting, paint applications and extended articulation is hard to ignore. Sideswipe especially, the rear bumpers that transform into his feet was a hallmark of many Alternators / BinalTech robots.

One of the things I really liked about the designs, was that they weren't just going for the kinds of "robots" that we're all used to seeing, but aliens as well. I think the designs pretty well reflect the composition of those two characteristics of the Transformers. I just can&... read more

so you want all of the robots in this film to be all boxy like in the g1 cartoons? Do you really want floating boxes in the air? WTF

Its just really really stupid to have 2 sets of characters (one in the cartoons, another in the movies) - the closely thing Bay can do is to get Optimus somewhat accurate??? I mean everything else is not even remotely accurate to its original design. They couldn't even use the same truck for O... read more

I'm the opposite. I really didn't care to much for the first movie, I thought it could have been better, however I find of the character designs fascinating and unique. I just don't understand the current design of the Autobots, I'm trying to open about it, but still find my sel... read more

Why should I be "glad" about something I find to be displeasing and disappointing. I honestly don't like the direction Hasbro and Michael Bay have taken with the Transformers live action movie. There's nothing to "get over" because I simply don't like what I'm se... read more

Yes most of them will just be paintjobs, thats true hehe. But as far as the quality of this model, I don't think it's terrible or innacurate. The hands are freaky, but that's kinda his 'thing'!
