Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave Laserbeak, MP-14 Red Alert Prototypes 1st Looks; Amazon Japan Exclusive Energon Cubes w/ Soundwave
Peter Van - Wednesday, June 13, 2012

As a precursor to Tokyo Toy Show, everything that Takara Tomy was hoping to keep a lid on has come out. First it was the colored looks at Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Sideswipe and now gray prototype images of MP-13 Soundwave and Laserbeak and MP-14 Red Alert have been posted on Amazon Japan.

The retailer will offer exclusive Energon cubes with MP-13 Soundwave.

The images show off Soundwave and his cassette minion Laserbeak in both robots and their alternate cassette player and cassette modes; and Red Alert in robot and vehicle modes.

Amazon will exclusively offer two Energon cubes with MP-13 Soundwave.

This is similar to the pile drivers the retailer is offering on the MP-12 Lambor.

The figures are due in December 2012 with Soundwave reported to cost 15800 Yen (~$199 USD) and Red Alert for 5800 Yen (~$73 USD). Additional information may be revealed by Takara this weekend at the Tokyo Toy Show.

Looks like that extra arcade money I've been saving up is going somewhere else! Also it looks like Soundwave's buttons are pushable on the front.

More MasterPiece News
14 months ago back in March 2015, I did a video discussing my Masterpiece Moments for the TF MP figures in my collection. There have been quite a few additions to the MP collection since then so I though it was time for me to do the next episode and go through my Masterpiece Moments for all the latest figures since that time. Takara have pumped out about one figure per month since then, albeit mostly repaints. Hope you can check out my thoughts on these Masterpiece figures
Those of you looking to snag one of the Toy Show Exclusive Black Masterpiece TracksMP-25L Loudpedal figures will be glad to know TFSource has them up for order. The repaint of the MP Tracks figure comes in a delightfully Decepticon edition featuring an all black redeco, some cool accessories, and a nifty stand. Get a look at the official images that show the Transformers Masterpiece MP-25L Loudpedal that is slated to for shipping July, 2016. It is listed at a price of $89.95 USD for pre-order now at TFSource.
Leaked this weekend in a fuzzy image of a hobby magazine page, we now have full photos from TakaraTomy themselves of Loud Pedal, the recolor of Masterpiece Tracks featuring the toy-based head previously seen only on a testshot. Loud Pedal will be an exclusive at Tokyo Toy Show this summer, and is based on the Diaclone black version of Tracks. For those concerned about availability, it's worth noting last year's TTS exclusives were fairly readily available online for some time after the event. Keep reading to see all the high res photos!
Are we destined to get evil Decepticons twins for basically every Masterpiece Autobot car? ...probably. The latest TakaraTomy effort towards that goal is MP-25L, whose name appears to be "Loudpedal." This was revealed via a very small photo of one of the upcoming Japanese hobby magazines, which also shows that Loudpedal will have their own stand! Keep reading for the photo, and what little info we have.
You get a Megatron! You get a Megatron! Everybody who handled Gun Megatron in the G1 cartoon gets a Megatron! The latest Masterpiece to get in on the Oprah-like Megatron giveaway is MP-29 Shockwave! Also known by his Japanese name of Laserwave, the Decepticon caretaker will be reissued in non-Japanese Asian territories, and those who preorder will be gifted with the - what, at least third? - nontransforming pistol form of the Decepticon leader. Keep reading for more info!
