Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave Laserbeak, MP-14 Red Alert Prototypes 1st Looks; Amazon Japan Exclusive Energon Cubes w/ Soundwave
Peter Van - Wednesday, June 13, 2012
As a precursor to Tokyo Toy Show, everything that Takara Tomy was hoping to keep a lid on has come out. First it was the colored looks at Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Sideswipe and now gray prototype images of MP-13 Soundwave and Laserbeak and MP-14 Red Alert have been posted on Amazon Japan.
The retailer will offer exclusive Energon cubes with MP-13 Soundwave.

The images show off Soundwave and his cassette minion Laserbeak in both robots and their alternate cassette player and cassette modes; and Red Alert in robot and vehicle modes.
Amazon will exclusively offer two Energon cubes with MP-13 Soundwave.
This is similar to the pile drivers the retailer is offering on the MP-12 Lambor.
The figures are due in December 2012 with Soundwave reported to cost 15800 Yen (~$199 USD) and Red Alert for 5800 Yen (~$73 USD). Additional information may be revealed by Takara this weekend at the Tokyo Toy Show.
Thanks to Facebook user Arturo Milomir we have a scan of one of the pages from this month's Figure King Magazine featuring Masterpiece Inferno! Along with showing off the basics of the figure much as we've seen from its reveal at the toy shows, this gives an interesting new detail - where the ladder goes. It's quite an elegant bit of work, utilizing otherwise empty space inside the body to compress and store away the ladder completely. We've mirrored (and straightened out) the image of the magazine page, so keep reading and have a look!
Thanks to Bridgemagnet who's come by today with a review video for the surprise release of Masterpiece Bumblebee from Hasbro. Given a whopping high price tag at Canadian Toys R Us, the video goes in to detail about how Hasbro's treated their latest Masterpiece offering.
And to top it off, Bridgemagnet has produced numerous photos of the set so you can get an even better look at all of the details. You can click through to watch the video, embedded below, and check out the great photo gallery!
This week on Radio Free Cybertron: Tokyo Toy Show brings us lots of new goodies including Masterpiece Inferno, Thrust and Cheetor! We talk about G2 Bruticus, upcoming third party releases and tons more!
The prolific Masabon1980 has posted a respectable gallery of images to Photobucket showing off the recently-released MP Loud Pedal! The black recolor of MP Tracks is a new character sporting the previously-unused toy-accurate face for the mold. We've mirrored all the photos here, so keep reading to see for yourself!
Starting with a questionable account late yesterday from cybertron.ca, it looked like a Hasbro release of Masterpiece Bumblebee may have occurred. Today we have solid proof in the form of an in hand photo of the packaging, found at a Vancouver Toys R Us.
If you're thinking you slept through an announcement that Bumblebee would be hitting Hasbro's MP line, you're not alone. Without a word ahead of time, this one got snuck in to the assortment and out to retail - not an easy task these days! The bad news is the pack retails for $120 CAD, or about $93 USD. Yikes! Click through for the package photo thanks to StarscreamX.
