Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave Laserbeak, MP-14 Red Alert Prototypes 1st Looks; Amazon Japan Exclusive Energon Cubes w/ Soundwave
Peter Van - Wednesday, June 13, 2012

As a precursor to Tokyo Toy Show, everything that Takara Tomy was hoping to keep a lid on has come out. First it was the colored looks at Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Sideswipe and now gray prototype images of MP-13 Soundwave and Laserbeak and MP-14 Red Alert have been posted on Amazon Japan.

The retailer will offer exclusive Energon cubes with MP-13 Soundwave.

The images show off Soundwave and his cassette minion Laserbeak in both robots and their alternate cassette player and cassette modes; and Red Alert in robot and vehicle modes.

Amazon will exclusively offer two Energon cubes with MP-13 Soundwave.

This is similar to the pile drivers the retailer is offering on the MP-12 Lambor.

The figures are due in December 2012 with Soundwave reported to cost 15800 Yen (~$199 USD) and Red Alert for 5800 Yen (~$73 USD). Additional information may be revealed by Takara this weekend at the Tokyo Toy Show.

Looks like that extra arcade money I've been saving up is going somewhere else! Also it looks like Soundwave's buttons are pushable on the front.

Blacklai has a new gallery on his blog showing off the just-released Masterpiece Delta Magnus! This figure represents the deco of Diaclone's Powered Convoy, seen briefly used in test animation in an early Transformers: The Movie trailer. Thanks to IDW assigning a specific identity to these colors, an easy opportunity was presented to turn another Diaclone alternate coloring in to a new Transformers character! We've mirrored a selection of photos showing off the highlights of the figure, which you can see below, and keep reading for a link to the original post.
Site sponsor Robotkingdom is expecting some big stuff in a couple of days. Due to start shipping on the 27th of August, Masterpiece MP31 Delta Magnus and UW-08 Computron will both include their Hasbro Asia collector coins! They've posted images of both, which we've mirrored here. Keep reading to see!
Transformers fans in Asia will be glad to know they can give or get the gift of MP-02 Masterpiece Soundwave in time for the holidays when the figure will be re-issued. According to the Transformers Asia page on Facebook, the figure will be re-issued along with 5 tape-bots and a bonus die-cast Cassette player. This is said to be a Hasbro release in Taiwan this December, 2016. No word on pricing just yet. Read on to see the promotional image and other details on the MP-02 Soundwave Masterpiece Reissue.
It's new stock photo day from Japan, as early this morning a round of new upcoming Transformers product photos was handed out. First up is Masterpiece Cheetor, now designated as MP-34 and given a projected retail release in January of 2017! Coming in at a price of 7,000 Yen it is considerably lower than MP Optimus Primal's 12,000 Yen, being more closely in line with the Autobot Car pricepoint. The new photos finally show off the beast mode in color, and all we can say is, spot-on smooth! Keep reading to take a look!
Thanks to pancrazi on Weibo we have a few images showing the debut of Masterpiece Dirge! The third member of the conehead seeker group is finally accounted for, not terribly long after the reveal of Thrust! These photos actually show Dirge being unpacked and added to the display case, along with a good closeup on the figure's robot mode. Besides the serial number, an unsurprising MP-11ND, we don't have any information or release details for this figure. But as final as that display piece looks, it must not be too far future!
