Masterpiece MP-13 Soundwave Laserbeak, MP-14 Red Alert Prototypes 1st Looks; Amazon Japan Exclusive Energon Cubes w/ Soundwave
Peter Van - Wednesday, June 13, 2012

As a precursor to Tokyo Toy Show, everything that Takara Tomy was hoping to keep a lid on has come out. First it was the colored looks at Transformers Masterpiece MP-12 Sideswipe and now gray prototype images of MP-13 Soundwave and Laserbeak and MP-14 Red Alert have been posted on Amazon Japan.

The retailer will offer exclusive Energon cubes with MP-13 Soundwave.

The images show off Soundwave and his cassette minion Laserbeak in both robots and their alternate cassette player and cassette modes; and Red Alert in robot and vehicle modes.

Amazon will exclusively offer two Energon cubes with MP-13 Soundwave.

This is similar to the pile drivers the retailer is offering on the MP-12 Lambor.

The figures are due in December 2012 with Soundwave reported to cost 15800 Yen (~$199 USD) and Red Alert for 5800 Yen (~$73 USD). Additional information may be revealed by Takara this weekend at the Tokyo Toy Show.

Looks like that extra arcade money I've been saving up is going somewhere else! Also it looks like Soundwave's buttons are pushable on the front.

More MasterPiece News
The TransformersAsia Facebook page has posted images (in some cases silhouettes) of the exclusives set to come with MP-33 Inferno, MP-34 Cheetor, and MP-35 Grapple! These Masterpiece figures will ship to non-Japanese Asian territories with miniature diecast figures of Optimus Prime, Optimus Primal, and Ultra Magnus! We don't know at the moment whether these figures will also ship with coins or whether these minifigures have taken the place of the collector coins - but that'd make a lot of sense. Keep reading to see the images!
Hobbybase have posted new images of Transformers Masterpiece MP-27 Ironhide Rerun edition that includes a drill weapon as an Asia limited bonus. The special accessory Drill is shown held by the MP-27 Ironhide figure as well as with the mini tool box case that can hold the weapon as well. Read on to see the images for more details.
Fans looking to guy the Masterpiece MP-35 Grapple Transformers figure from Takara Tomy will be glad to know about this special promotion. You can get this special design die-cast metal mini figure free when you preorder the Transformers Masterpiece MP-35 Grapple from selected stores in Asia, while supplies Last! This promotion is available to Asia only, not including Japan. Read on to see the promotional image with silhouette preview of what appears to be Ultra Magnus, below for the full preview.
The Facebook page Transformers Asia has posted a series of new photos showing Masterpiece Shattered Glass Optimus Prime. The recolor can be seen in various poses and using its accessories, including the combat deck and repair bay functions of the trailer. A few shots give a chance to see it alongside other iterations of the MP-10 body - and notably the Nemesis version pulling the trailer, suffering only from mismatched insignias. We've mirrored the photos, click through to see them now!
Loopaza Mega Store on Facebook has shared high res scans of this month's Figure King magazine, giving us a look at the feature on Masterpiece Grapple! With some repeats of the previously seen stock photos, such as the accessory option parts, we also have a few new glimpses. But maybe most notably there's a render depicting only the parts shared between Grapple and Inferno - and roughly half the toy is missing, meaning Grapple's sporting a lot of new pieces! Also shown were UW-EX Megatronia, a bit of Transformers Adventure, and a full page on the Diaclone Reboot power suits - click through to take a look!
