Mech Ideas Apex and Geminus Video Review - Homages to Jumpstarers G1 Twin Twist and Topspin

By BlackMagnus on Thursday, November 29, 2012

Due to his historic 1000th review, YouTube user Peaugh has been given a very special oppurtunity. Mech Ideas has given him the first looks at full figure test shots of their G1 Jumpstarters homages, Topspin and Twin Twist. Otherwise known as Geminus and Apex respectively. Get a preview of the figures from Peaugh who shows off the transformation, robot mode, alternate mode, accessories, and a size comparison with other Fansproject Wreckers Defender and Assaulter action figures. Watch the video below now to see the review.

Wow. 1000 videos. Who've thought? Special thanks to TFSOURCE, Esmond and the crew at MASTERMIND CREATIONS, Mech Ideas, Fansproject, CheersIan, GMFan101, TJ Duckett, GogDog, Aksmth, ichab0d, crasis, jarodimus, SEANxLONG, Optibotimus, Emgo316, Vangelus, Thew, KalEl, the Random Review, and all the other reviewers out there*, new and old, who have made this a community and who have found a way to have fun playing with toys on the internet. Through all the ups and downs, it's been a mostly positive experience and one that I hope continues to 2000 videos and beyond.

Well it's about time these two got some love, at least after their rather gruesome fate in LSOTW

A couple images have turned up today showing a new third party Constructicon project. The prototype seen so far only in incomplete Devastator configurations is being attributed to DX9 Toys, as part of their War In Pocket line of Legends-scale figures. If these are what they seem, we could have a very interesting project getting underway, although most might think that any existing Devastator is already technically scaled better for Legends Class figures. Personally, I just hope they'll come in an orange variation. Click through and have a look at the prototype photos!
Site sponsor TFSource has shared a photo this afternoon showing off a fully assembled Ordin, the Unique Toys take on Abominus. This shows very clearly how well the proportions are balanced, as the combiner looks like a single, solid unit rather than highlighting the combination of the smaller individuals. Not all the team members are available yet, but if this is an indication, it probably won't be long for the ones still left waiting. Keep reading to see the photo.
Today on their Facebook page, DX9 Toys has shared the first look at their upgrade kit for G1-style Generation Leader Class Megatron on the toy in vehicle mode. As most had anticipated, a large degree of partsforming is required, although the result is not as offensive looking as some may have feared. Keep reading to have a look!
Planet X has posted images of City Guardian, a Omega Sentinel-themed version of their Omega Supreme toy, Genesis! The image is captioned that they are "testing it for fun," suggesting that they might be trying to gauge interest in a release of the figure. Keep reading for the images and a link back to their Facebook page so you can let them know what you think!
A poster at 78dm.net has turned up with a huge pile of photos of the new SXS figure Overclocking, based heavily on G1 Blurr. The Masterpiece-ish size figure tries to capture the look of Blurr's original hovercar mode, and improving it for more modern design concepts, and ends up looking pretty nice, even if it's too big to fit in with a Classics collection and may not be at the top of everyone's Masterpiece wishlist. Click through to check out all the photos!
