Micron Shockwave Spotted in AD!

By Big_Rig on Sunday, June 15, 2003 @ 11:52:39 AM

FanToFan.com has gotten it's hands on a Windows Media File of an ad for the Micron version of Jetfire. The big surprise is that it also features the Shockwave (Tidal Wave) /Megatron combo, Burning Megaton. For those of you who have been moaning about the "snot" and "puke" green color on parts of the American version will be happy to know that it's been totally replaced with a shade of purple, that while a bit bright, looks a heck of a lot better. The video can be found HERE. There are screen captures HERE and HERE.

Yuck. Neon purple? The American colors look a lot better. The green adds some much needed variety to Tidal Wave -- his show colors are boring.

Of course, I'll probably order one of these and use a little black dye to darken them to a shade of purple that doesn't hurt my eyes. Then I can mix and match parts with my American Tidal Wave. :)

Firebrand,

Hasbro is releasing the gray, purple, and green Tidal Wave here in America. You'll be able to find him in stores in a few months.

Takara is releasing the bright purple and gray Tidal Wave (except they call him "Shockwave" over there) in Japan. If you want one of those, you'll have to order it from a dealer like BBTS or HLJ. It will most likely never be available in the USA at retail.

He's better off with the US colors, but hey this version looks better with his slight "animated" colors dont you think?
