Yeah I am pretty sure they will include them and be removeable since MP SS and RA both had removeble ones as well. I was sad to see you will sell your BT and Alternators....those are what got be back into TFs.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the classics line used the shoulder missiles just so that way they could just reuse the mold and repaint it to bluestreak. I was one when the cartoon came out and can still remember having a Prowl and always wondering why it came with missiles on the shoulder when he didn&#... read more

Well the classics line is what comes to my mind and why I posed the question. I know the G1 toy did, but I don't think i really paid much attention to the cartoon variance. I would expect that he would come with them, but they be removable. I guess we'll soon find out.

I'm pretty sure these MPs are actually trying to capture the spirit of the cartoon, not the original toys. Hence the reason why they are being scaled the way they are.

I doubt that the missile launchers would be permanently attached to Prowl. Masterpiece Transformers tend to represent the original toy as much as, or even more than, the cartoon appearance of the characters.

Prowl's G1 toy did come with missiles, which these MPs are trying to capture the spirit of.

Prowl better not come with missiles on his shoulders. Because in the G1 cartoon Prowl did not have shoulder Missiles. BlueStreak and smokescreen did however. That's how in season one prowl and BlueStreak looked different, besides color of course.

This is just a teaser, so I'm assuming that he'll come with them. They've been pretty accurate this far with the MP line.

More MasterPiece News
With the official release date just about upon us, we'll be sure to see plenty of Masterpiece Cheetor in the next little while. But in the meantime we've got a few extra photos to share with you offering some direct comparisons you might be interested in. Mainly looking at Cheetor's relative scale with MP Optimus Primal, which might be indicating Cheetor to be a tiny bit bigger than the show models had it, but generally right. And as an extra, Alfes2010 snapped a photo of MP Cheetor next to the original toy ...mostly imitating Mutant Head action, but it's a good look at both ends of the Cheetor spectrum. Click through for mirrored photos!
On Twitter, TakaraTomy has shared a video presentation that gives a history (in brief) of the Transformers Masterpiece line. While the majority of the video spends time focused on the history of the series, toward the end it stops for a bit on the upcoming new version of Megatron, and gives a good look at its Key to Vector Sigma accessory and energy mace, with cartoon clips to give them their context. We've taken some screencaps from that segment, and you can find those and an embed of the Twitter video in the full post below!
As we come up on the last weekend of the month, it's time for new toys in Japan, and highly anticipated on that score is Masterpiece Cheetor. Twitter user @ZEAMTIGER has already gotten hold of Cheetor and has been sending out a variety of photos giving us our first real in hand look. Though right now no comparisons with MP Optimus Primal are shown, you can see Cheetor side by side with the Generations molds of Rattrap and Rhinox, showing how one scales well and the other... doesn't. The photos are mirrored in the album below, click through to take a look now!
Autobase Aichi has posted some small images of flyers being handed out today at Wonderfest. Much of it concerns simple things like the The Last Knight toys, the campaign to produce the Infobar licensed transforming cellphones, and existing Masterpiece products. But hidden in a corner is the one juicy nugget of new info. After perfecting their black magic transformation engineering tricks with Cheetor, Dinobot appears to be coming to Masterpiece, and there's no telling how they'll reconcile the show model's ludicrously incompatible robot and beast modes in a toy that has to actually work. Keep reading for mirrored images.
Thanks to Loopaza on Facebook, we have clear, high res scans of the two Transformers-focused pages from this month's Figure King Magazine. As we saw in the early look the other day, the Legends EX Headmaster 6 pack is on show here, destined for various limited release outlets next month. Newly seen is a big showcase of MP-38 Supreme Commander version Beast Convoy/Optimus Primal, based on the original toy with new deco and some new accessory parts. We have the full resolution pages mirrored for you, so click through to see it now!
