It looks like the Transformers Animated voyager class Optimus Prime figure will be re-released in stores in a different packaging.
An
eBay auction by "best best buy" shows the figure is packaged in robot mode within a brand-new voyager class box design.
Could this be a precursor of other voyager class figures being re-released in this packaging? or will future figures in this class be packaged in this manner?

Hopefully this is the reason Prime's so hard to find. I personally don't care how he's packaged, just as long as he eventually shows up. Also I don't think this will be true for many of the other voyagers. Shockwave/Longarm has yet to be released and had already been seen packaged in... read more |

Maybe they decided that the faction leaders should both be packaged as bots, but since there isn't a leader CLASS Optimus, it led them to change this one package. There hasn't been any sign of change for the other voyagers, has there? |

Well I can confirm it's heading our way ... because it's already here in Singapore, spotted a few of them at China Square Central today. Same price as the normal prime I think. Here's my disembodied hand holding one... |

it looks better in robot mode sure, and if your an MISBer then its a really nice thing, but its half as fun to go from robot to vehicle then it is from vehicle to robot. |
