Dinobots Continue Their Slow Reveal In New Transformers Fall of Cybertron Footage

By Peter Van on Wednesday, May 23, 2012

New footage of the Dinobots in the upcoming Transformers Fall of Cybertron is featured in a new video released by High Moon Studios.

Posted exclusively by Machinima, Game Director Matt "Tieg" Tieger explains the Dinobots origin story as well as an abridged version of how he pitched the idea to Hasbro.

"NOBODY CONTROLS GRIMLOCK"

- Matt Tieger

These stories have been told before, but the video does show new cut scenes from the video game, including the Dinobots discovering the designs that Shockwave created for the Dinobots.

This version of the Dinobots have a brand-new past: previously a well-established group of Autobots in their own right, they are captured by Shockwave, who at that time has a new-found love for the dinosaurs when visiting historic Earth via the Spacebridge.

The Dinobot characters are "powerhouses," Mr. Tieger said previously.

Shockwave tortures and turns these poor Autobots into metal dinosaurs in an attempt to use them to destroy the Autobots.

Obviously that does not go well. "Nobody controls Grimlock," as Mr. Tieger puts it.

Packed with so much power, these Dinobots have sacrificed some intellect, but are not nearly as dumb as the Dinobots in the beginning of the Generation 1 series, and certainly not the latter part, where they just went off the cliff of dumb and stupidity.

Transformers Fall of Cybertron hits stores on August 28, 2012 for XBox 360 and Playstation 3.
